You are my sunshine...

I love creating scenic cards so how will I miss a chance given by the challenges at The Friday Mashup 116 - Lillian's taking us to the beach and Less is More Week 126 - SAND which is the theme to acknowledge the  location of talented Hannelie the guest designer at LIM. To create this card I used the sketch challenge at Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge AC 166. Here's my card... 

To make this card, I mashed up the options given at The Friday Mashup challenge - use Masking & create a beach project. I wanted to create some depth in beach view. So I hand drew and cut of the focal image with palm trees in the forefront using a craft knife and colored them. 

The background of the beach was created on another card stock where I used masking and different colors of memento dew drop dye inks to create the sand, water and sky. This piece was then stuck to card base with the palm trees using foam dots. The yellow stripes to match the sketch were created using washi tape. The sentiment from Scrappy Cat- sunny day was finally stamped.
