Fusion Challenge #3

Hello friends!! time for another Fusion for you to create :) I am sure you all loved our previous Fusion inspiration pic and this time we have a photo for love, yep some thing to help you out with Valentine cards :) Now let us see how will you interpret our third challenge of the year!!

FUSION is a very interesting, it gives us a photo and a sketch, so possibilities are endless with the freedom given in the challenge. You can just work with the sketch or just photo but in my case as usual. I Fused the two. I was inspired by the colors in the photo and the sketch. 

For my card, I inked the horizontal panel on the card base (using Tim Holtz ink). I created a paper stencil by cutting out the diagonal parallel lines, I then used it to apply some Modelling paste (from Liquitex). I stamped and fuzzy cut the flowers (from Stamping up wood mounted rubber stamp set - sent by my sweet friend - I hope she is loving all my creations using her goodies ). Cut out the leaves using foliage dies from Spell binders. Then I added some ink splatter, assembled all the elements on card base. Finally sentiment (from Paper sweeties) was added.

I love my star :)

Yesterday, my husband surprised me with a gift... Distress inks :) I have been thinking about buying these for quite a while and he is so adorable to remember it and give the inks as a surprise to me :) I jumped when I got these :) I guess for crafters any thing crafty is the best gift :)
So here I am back with another card. I also have had these star dies from Momenta bought from Hobby Lobby and wanted to use them. There were a few challenges that provoked me to use them. I was inspired by the Sketch at CAS(E) this sketch #61, the theme Stars at The Friday Mashup #144, the colors from the Photo Inspiration at Inspired by Challenge #104 and the Moxie Fab World's - Constellations - Trendy Star Power Challenge :)

Yep I did it again, combined so many challenges together, its gratifying!! LOL

To make this I first made a sun burst stencil from card stock. I masked the card base as per the sketch and inked the burst with Distress Ink. I cut n embossed stars and inked them. I hand drew the lines indicating that the stars are hanging from stitch lines. Then I added the splatter of Pool ink from Tim Holtz. I arranged the stars n stuck them with glue n foam dots. I also added some sequin stars. I finishes the card with hand drawn knot at the end of stitch line n hand written sentiment.

ATSM #80 - Photo Inspiration

Valentine's day is nearing and its time for us to create cards for this day. So, this week the challenge at Addicted to Stamps and more... is just right, a Photo Inspiration. The photo has so many elements that will inspire you, the colors, the elements, theme.. Also, I would like to welcome our talented Guest Designer Karen of Made by Meadie, with yet another amazing creation :)

I was inspired by the tiny little hearts kept in a box in this photo and wanted to create the same thing on my card. I used the sketch from Retrosketches #99 and the some colors from Runways Inspired challenge #52 - Dennis Basso. Since it is Lovey dovey, I will also link it up to Sentimental Sunday's #191 - Lovey Dovey Challenge :)

To make this card,  I created a stencil on a card stock of those diagonal parallel lines (using an exacto knife). Following the sketch I added some Modeling paste from Liquitex over the stencil. Added some yellow ink splashes on the card base. I used a jar n tiny heart stamps (from Recollections stamp set) to create the jar with hearts. Jar was stamped(using Hero arts Chalk ink - night) n fuzzy cut, heart were stamped along with masking in Pool ink from Tim Holtz. Then I stamped and fuzzy cut the butterflies (from Martha Stewart set). I aslo cut a star (using Momenta Die) from Vellum. Tied American crafts twine around the neck of the jar along with a stamped tag of sentiment :) Finally, I assembled all the elements on the card base.

Love for vellum...

Hi friends, I am back with another card today. I made a card combining a few challenges, well...that's how always do :D Actually, I feel that one can come up with great ideas after mixing up challenges. So this card is inspired by CAS-ual Friday's #126 - Color Blocks, Color Me #4 - Color me... Playful!, The Card Concept #2 - Add texture (I think my card type should be Clean and layered) and CASology Week 70 - Contrast. 

By definition contrast means arrangement of opposite elements (light vs. dark colors, rough vs. smooth textures, large vs. small shapes, etc.) in a piece so as to create visual interest. So, I used large and small shape  to depict the contrast and may be the colors can also be a contrast like green n orange.  So here's my card...

To make this I cut out a rectangular card stock as a guide for deciding the size and placement of the shapes. As is visible in the card, I used DCWV - Basics Card stock with Color me Challenge colors to cut out the shapes. Then I created dash lines on each shape, distressed the edges to add texture and stuck them on card stock in the desired pattern. Then I hand drew a smaller shape inside each bigger shape and cut it out using an exacto knife (these smaller shapes were cut through the card base as well), distressed the inner edges too. Then I hand drew the thread which was made to depict continuation of stitch lines on each shape. Finally, I added foliage leaf die cut of vellum... because of my recent love for vellum LOL (using Nestabilities Foliage dies), buttons and stamped the sentiment (from Paper sweeties set).

Stamp fever

Hello friends... here's a quick card from me using Penny Black Hugs!! set that I recently won in a lucky draw at Alice Wertz Holiday Season bloghop :) Yeah!! lucky me, sometimes strange things happen just like this one, me winning in a lucky draw LOL. Thank you Alice :)

Nevertheless, I got these yesterday and was so excited that I had to create a card using them. I was inspired by Color Q #225, Curtain call Inspiration challenge - Love letter, The Paper Players - One layer Valentine and One layer simplicity challenge #1 - Restocking the shelves (I am restocking with Valentine cards). Here's my card...

I hand drew a focal frame using scale n grid lines. then I stamped a combination of different stamps by masking off the portions I did not want to use from the Hugs set. I colored them with pencil colors and  Sharpie markers and my card is ready :) So fun n so quick :)

ATSM #79 - Addicted to CAS

We have a wonderful new challenge for you this week at Addicted to stamps and more... Addicted to CAS. We all know what clean and simple is right? It's all about the design, not the technique,  not the tools, not the embellishments. It's all about the design Uncluttered, lots of white or open space and one main focal point. I would also like to welcome our lovely and talented Guest Designer Karen of Made by Meadie, I am sure you will love what she created :) and here's my card...

To make this card, I stamped the Jar stamp (from Recollections stamp set), fuzzy cut and lightly shaded it with my metallic grey color pencil. I made a small slit at the lower end of the lid and on the top to allow the arrow to pass through. I stuck the heart and the arrow (from Lil' Inkers - few die cuts sent by my sweet friend) on the jar, then hand drew the tiny hearts using a sharpie marker. I tied the white embroidery thread bought from Walmart along with the sweet tag stamped from the same set. Then I scored some lines at the base (yeah!! my favorite thing to do... lol) and stamped the sentiment (from paper Sweeties) I then stuck this jar using some foam dots.

ATCAS #30

Can't believe how time flies and we are back with a new challenge at Addicted to CAS . We are so happy that so many of you joined in with us for our first challenge of the year :) and now the code word for this week is NEW selected by our very talented Shana. She is also the host for this challenge.

There are so many different ways in which you can interpret the cue card. New born baby, new relationship, new home, new job, new craft supplies... possibilities are endless. So here's my card...

To make this card, I was inspired by a few challenges Colors from Color Q #224, by A Blog Named Hero  #36 - New year, new stash challenge , and theme at CASology Week 78 - DOT. 
To make this card, I use the new products sent by my sweet friend :) This was the best Christmas, I got a lot of sweet adorable gifts from my Santa friend ;) I am so thankful to her and and I am trying to incorporate some or the other goodies sent by her in my cards :) So in this card, the houses you see are cork and are from Freckled Fawn embellishments set. I inked up the card base by a splatter of Pool Ink (from Tim Holtz), then I inked the houses. I cut out a circle using my sizzix dies and inked up to create the sun. Sentiment (from Papertrey ink - Ruby reprise) was stamped  and finally Twine (from The Twinery) was tied and embellishes with a button from my stash :)

I love challenges...

Hello, my dear friends... I am back with a card. As usual I was inspired by a few challenges. The colors from Color Me #3 - Color me... Subtle, I have fallen in love with these colors... so soft and subtle :), the Sketch from CAS(E) this sketch #60 and the theme at CASology Week 78 - DOT and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge blog - Emboss it. So, here's my card...

I embossed the card base using Martha Stewart score board to create a panel. I cut out a Tag using DCWV - Basics Stack. Then I added those die cut martini n wine glass (from paper Smooches) sent by my sweet friend. I tied a blossom stripe bakers twine (from The Twinery) and added a clip to the corner. I added the sequin I bought from India :D while I was visiting my family... I did not miss any opportunity to buy stuff from there LOL , I inked the diet cut stars and stuck the tag using foam dots. Finally, sentiment was added and some faux cross stitch was drawn on the tag. My card is all done :)

  

Also, I have a great news to share with you guys my friends and team mates at ATSM are starting a brand new challenge blog TIME OUT Challenges, starting in March 2014!!

This challenge has been created by Nonni and Sandie. The idea is to take TIME OUT of our busy days and indulge in the art of crafting! They came up with 4 types of challenges which will have a little twist! If you keep checking this blog out you will find out what our twist is, I am sure you will like it :)

Fusion Challenge #2

Hello friends!! Time for another Fusion for you to create :) Our first challenge was full of creativity which is evident  from the participation made by all of you :) I was intrigued how a photo can be interpreted so differently :) Now let us see how will you interpret our second challenge of the year!!

 For my card, I cut out a white panel and partially embossed it with wooden embossing folder (sent by a sweet friend). Then I hand drew and fuzzy cut the white basket with Exacto knife. The flowers (from scrappy cat - Garden set) were stamped and fuzzy cut and lightly inked with Hero hues night ink.  On the card base leaves were stamped and rest of the elements were stuck. The buttons were added to match the inspirations colors :) Finally sentiment (from Paper sweeties) and twine from American Crafts was added.

ATSM #78 - HOLIDAY

We are back with another amazing challenge this week at Addicted to stamps and more... HOLIDAY which opens up a wide range of ideas, from projects for any festive holiday or for some holiday destinations or whatever comes to your mind when you think about holiday... There are numerous possibilities. We also have our lovely Guest Designer Gemma of Gem's Little Creations , joining us back this week with another brilliant creation :) Here's what I made for Holiday...

To make this card, I was inspired by the MUSE #50 card this week made by very inspiring and very creative Therese Calvird. I was also inspired by the colors at The Paper Players #178. I used the Christmas tree stamp (from Holiday Spotlight - Joy nailing set, bought at a local craft store) and created a mask from scratch paper. Then I stamped the tree using Archival Black ink multiple times doing masking. The landscape die cut is from Mama Elephant sent by a lovely friend :) Thanks to her again :). I then colored all the trees using my pencil colors and added some glitter on each. Sentiment was stamped from same set and pearls were added :)

Celebrate...

I am back with yet another card, inspired by the colors at Color me #2 challenge, the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #59 and the mash up to create a birthday card and use a twine at The Friday Mashup #142. So here's my card...

To make this, I stamped the flower (from Inkadinkadoo floral cling stamp) with Hero Hues ink. I cut our leaves using Spellbinders Foliage dies in white card stock n vellum. I punched out a mini flower using my Picture punch and inked it. Then I assembled all the elements on the card, added a jute twine knot of the same color from the challenge (from American Crafts) and stamped the sentiment (from Stamping up) with Archival Black ink. Pearls were then added to embellish. This card too incorporate some of the goodies sent by my friend. So my every card in some way is dedicated to her :) Thank you my dear friend.

Challenges kick start my creativity :)

Hi friends, so I back in my usual mode of making cards for more and more challenges... I made two this time and of course I combined :) Here's my first card...

The theme at CASology Week 77 - BUBBLY and the Colors at Runway Inspired Challenge #51 were a perfect combo for my card design. I also wanted to celebrate the 3rd birthday of The Alley Way Stamps  so I used a cute digi available for free at the TAWS blog :)

To make this I masked off the card base and inked it up with Memento ink. I then used some water in a brush to make the bubbles on water and ink for bubbles in air. I also added some bubbles turning into hearts using my brush n red ink :) I then printed the fish, fuzzy cut and inked it up. Finally I stamped the sentiment from Paper Sweeties and added glossy accents to finish the card :)

      

Now to my second card, here again the colors at Inkspirational #47 and the sketch at CAS Colors & Sketches #56 and use of Chevron at Crazy for CAS #35 for a perfect combination for my card design. Chevron basically because I wanted to use some washi tape :)

To Make this card I lightly inked the card base, hand drew the flower vase and colored it. Hand drew the twigs on the vase. I had these punches butterflies sent by a sweet friend so I used them. I added all the elements together and stamped the sentiment from paper sweeties to finish the card.
