A card and a tag...

I am back with yet another card... weekdays are dedicated to my creativity and I don't want to miss a chance to create, if a good idea hits my mind :D So here I am with a card and a tag inspired by different challenges. The card is inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #39. I interpreted the sketch like this...

To make this card I hand drew and fuzzy cut my Christmas candle and stand and colored them with Sharpie Markers. The glittery ribbon was made with double sided transparent tape using Recollections Metallic red glitter. Further, I added Glossy Accents (from Ranger) to add texture to my candle. The glow of the candle was created by masking and inking ( Memento inks) Finally, all the elements were stuck and banner added. Since I have made a mark by hand drawing and using markers, I will also play it for Addicted to Stamps & more #57 - MAKE UR MARK.

Now to my tag, I was inspired by the colors of Zac Posen's dress at Runway Inspired challenge #41 and since I wanted to play at Moxie Fab World's - Holiday Cards and more week - The holiday Gift Tag challenge, I decided to create a Tag.  Also, liking it up to CAS on Sunday - Tag it! challenge on the talented and lovely Barb's recommendation :) Thank you so much Barb :)

To make it I used a water color paper (from Canson) and colored it with acrylic paint by mixing black and red colors (from Studio) to match the dress. I then stamped the flourish ( Mini Flourish from Inkadinkadoo) using white ink (Color box),  I added some white paint on flourish using sharpie paint marker. I added recollections glitter at one end. Finally embellished by tag with vellum flowers, pearls, ribbon and sequin butterfly (from Darice- Local craft company)

Happiness..

This is another card that I have made in the same league as that of few of my precious cards that create a 3D effect. It has a forefront and a background. This is inspired by the colors at LIM color challenge Week -131. So here's my card ...

I hand drew the tree trunks on card base in a frame and then cut the negative space using a craft knife. These were colored with markers. The background was made with my water colors from Studio on a Canson Water color paper and stuck behing the outer frame with foam dots. The leaves were fuzzy and water colored. Finally sentiment from Studio G iClear collection was stamped.

A cute card and a floral card...

Okay, the weekend is over now and its time for me to dive into some creativity. So, once more I ended up making two completely different card. I will play each of these cards for different challenges :)
Now to my first card... the challenge at CAS-ual Friday's #111 says use buttons and I wanted to represent buttons as a part of my idea and not just as an embellishment. I got this idea of showing someone playing with button... a "CAT" was perfect for this as it loves to play with yarn balls and I created the same look on my card. To make this card I decided to use the FUN & CUTE Sketch Challenge at House of Cards this month and the colors at Dynamic Duos #64 . So, here's my card...

On my card base I scored horizontal lines using my Martha Stewart's scoring board to match the sketch, the focal image i.e. the cat was hand drawn, colored (with pencil colors) and fuzzy cut. The sentiment was printed using MS-word. I chose the buttons to match up the colors at Dynamic Duos :) All the elements were stuck using foam and glue dots. The buttons were additionally linked by Black embroidery thread (purchased from Walmart) and finally I added Glossy accents (from Ranger) on the eyes of the cat :)

Now my second card :) I decided to go floral in this one and use some of my stamps. I was inspired by the colors at CAS Colors & Sketches #36 to create this card and since its a one layer card, I will play it for Lawnscaping challenge #63. So here's my card
To create this I did some masking on my card base to create the background grey. I then stamped the flowers (using Scrappy Cat - Sunny days stamps) and leaves (from Scrappy Cat - Garden collection wood stamp), the floral stems are hand drawn. the flowers were colored using a Sharpie Marker and glitter was added. Sentiment (from My mind's eye - the sweetest things) was stamped. Finally few drops of glossy accents was added. I purchased the Glossy accent yesterday and was excited to use it, so much so that I used it in both the cards :D

Love for the life under the sea ...

Yesterday, I was watching Nat Geo and I saw the beautiful life under the sea in some episode. The colors of water, the sea plants and sea animals... it was all so beautiful that I had to make a card on that and colors at Color Q challenge #200 were just perfect to create the scene I had in my mind. Secondly, I had to decide on a sketch and while surfing through various challenges I came across Fusion challenge #14 and bingo!!! I can create a fusion card :) So her's my card ...

I wanted to give a look where sea plants are in the fore front and sea water is seen in the background. To make this card, I first drew a vertical rectangular panel with hand drawn leaves on lower edge and then cut this out from my card base using a craft knife. They were then inked. Next I took another piece of white card stock to go behind the frame and form the sea. I did sponging to create an ombre effect of the sea using my Memento Dew Drop inks. This panel was stuck from behind on the frame which was already cut out. Rest I hand drew the sea animals, fuzzy cut and colored them. All the elements were stuck on the panel and a few pearls were added as accents :) and sentiment (from My Mind's eye collection) was stamped on a vellum strip and stuck.

For the baby girl...

Okay... the idea for this card came into my head when I saw the adorable photo of the little girl Bryna Kate daughter of wonderful Melissa from OH Smudge!!  who owns the challenge blog CASology. The design team at CASology is hosting a Baby shower, here to celebrate this beautiful moment in Melissa's life and of course I wanted to be a part of this :) Congratulations once again to Melissa and the entire family.

Now to my card, as I said the idea struck me when I saw the picture of Bryna and I was speechless to see her which took me to the OLW 151 - Speechless which our talented blog friend Ardyth from MASKerade is hosting. The challenge is to not use a sentiment :)

I decided to add one more element before I made this card and that was incorporating the brilliant idea of Jackie Rockwell from Rockwell Designs who is using the Spring 2013 Pantone Fashion Colors in her header and hosting a challenge to create a card to match. She'll be doing this until September 22. There are 10 colors and the current color is Lemon ZestBesides the fun of creating cards with these amazing colors there is something more intersting the Jackie has to offer which is "giving away one FREE blog Header design to one randomly selected winner" shortly after the challenges end on September 22.

With so much fun... I had to make this card :) So here's my card.

This is a card where I decided to create a lemon cup cake... I hand drew and colored it using some markers and colors pencils. The spool is a stamp from Stampabilities - Sewing clear stamp set. I hope you must have guessed what am I trying to say ;) "SEW SWEET"

Here is the lovely challenge image from Jackie Rockwell's Blog :)

Hope you all can join the fun too :) Thank you for stopping by :)
