ATSM #107 - Make your mark

We are back with another favorite challenge at Addicted to stamps and more... MAKE YOUR MARK. This is a challenge that requires you to use Markers, Pencils, Pens, Chalks, Crayons etc. If it writes or colours - use it! I am sure you love coloring as much as I do :)

For my card I decided to create a scene where the cute little cat tries to grab our attention by climbing over the string where the birds are sitting. And once the cat makes a jump, the birds loose their balance which I have depicted :)

 

To make this card, first I stamped the little cat and it's lower body multiple times to indicate movement.  The I hand drew the string lightly with pencil and stamped the little birdies.I colored them with Spectrum Noir markers.  I also hand drew and fuzzy cut the birch tree, inked the card base, stamped the sentiment. Finally, adhered this panel on a craft card base with some foam dots. 

I am kind of happy with the results, I was able to recreate my imagination :D

STAMPlorations Bi-weekly Sketch challenge #17

Hi friends! Its time for a new sketch challenge at STAMPlorations, Bi-weekly Sketch Challenge #17. This challenge ends on August 15st and the winners would be announced on August 17th. We have a very talented Guest Designer Kim M joining us for this challenge. Let's get to the sketch and my card...

To make this card, I stamped focal piece using the brush stroke stamp in Holiday Artsy set and then I created the butterfly Using Vignette - Retro Mod shapes. I then hand drew the black and silver squares to match the sketch and finally stamped the sentiment using Subway Art sentiment builder - Dare. I also inked the card base in light pink and water stamped the images from Holiday Artsy set. ATCAS #44 - GOLD

We are back with a new challenge at Addicted to CAS . This time the host of the challenge is me and I am so very excited for that. I decided to go with the GOLD  as the code word. A touch of gold makes a terrific difference in the look of a card. Possibilities are endless in terms of how you incorporate the the gold, as sequins, gold embossing, gold paint, inks, thread or gold paper... you decide or wow us with something unique. We also have brilliant Guest Designer Lyndal joining us. Her creative style is unique, her card are both pretty and brilliant in design. I am already working with her in other two teams and so happy to welcome her here at ATCAS.  You can see her projects by clicking here, Ideas and Paper

For my card, I decided to incorporate gold by heat embossing. Here's my card...

Firstly, I inked the card base and water stamped STAMPlorations Retro Mod shapes to create a flower. Then I heat embossed the sentiment. Added a scalloped white strip at the base along with two punched butterflies in white. To add to the gold theme I also adhered the gold sequins.

I have another card to share. I wanted to play along the MUSE #78 - Bev Buenker challenge at the Guest designer is sweet and talented Bev of Happy Dance. She is so adorable and kind, she always encourages me with her sweet comments :) And her cards are always very pretty and perfectly CAS :) so here's my take on the Muse. Though the core of my inspiration was hello and the colorful strip on Bev's card. I always tend to combine challenges. So this one can be combined to a lot many :)

and here is Bev's card...

To make this, I added the rainbow gelatos on the chevron stamps, sprayed it with water and stamped multiple times on the water color paper. Once dried, I cut it out using a circle die to create the umbrella. To make the stick of the umbrella, I used a black twine. To finish my card I added the multiple layers of hello die cut and stamped tiny little hearts. also scored the edge to match the sketch.

Mixed Media Card Challenge #2 - Summer

Hello and welcome back to my blog, this my second post for the day, please click HERE to check my post for CSCC #6

Time flies so fast, we are already through with our first challenge and now heading to another fun challenge at The Mixed Media Card Challenge. My excitement for mixed media is growing deeper coz there is so much to learn and experiment with, read about mixed media definition HERE and u will know what I am talking about.  So let's see what our second challenge is and what I created...

Summer with an optional element of burlap.... hmmmm.... for me summer is all about travelling and camping so I incorporated that into my mixed media card :) I have incorporated mixed media, yet again managed to keep it CAS. So, here's my card...

This card involves stamping and masking, I masked off the edges of the card base and stamped the tent slightly offset the focal area. Then I masked the ten and created the sky again by masking using post it notes and inking with distress inks, I also added some texture in the ray using some modeling paste and stencil. Then to create the look of a forest I stamped the tree (STAMPlorations Vignette Tree silhouette) multiple times. I colored the tent and added the burlap as the fabric of the tent. Finally I stamped the sentiment

CSCC #6

Hello friends! CSCC is back with a new challenge. This time the challenge is to use a pattern paper on ur card. You can use it as layers on cards, as a back ground, as die cuts or the most popular... you can do some paper piecing. The challenge will run for a month, so you will have plenty of time to play along. For more details on the challenge... please click HERE.

Now to my card... I was inspired by a few challenges for my card design from colors to element to the theme.

To make this card, I cut out 4 layers of vellum to form the waves using PPP stitched border die and colored two of those to showcase depth of water. Then I arranged them as the lower edge of the card. I stamped the tiny ship on  a pattern paper and fuzzy cut it. I used TAWS Pieces stamp set to create a kite. I also stamped the few clouds from the set and adhered it all on card base. To finish the card, I added the diecut XOXO sent by a sweet friend of mine :)
