Guest Designer at CAS Watercolor December Challenge !

I am super excited to be joining in the CAS Watercolor Challenge Team as the Guest designer :) Hooray!! I won the October challenge and was invited for the December challenge. Thank you so much Loll and Bonnie for having me over :)
The challenge for this month is watercolor resist. Such a fun technique. There are a number of way that you can do watercolor resist. One is of course embossing resist, others are crayon/ any oil based pencil/ marker or color resist.
For my card. I did oil pastel resist technique. Let me show you the card first...
I have these oil pastels and anything oil based would resist watercolors. So for my card, I took a watercolor panel and hand drew some concentric circles with white pastel. Then I water colored the background in grey. To dress up the card, I heat embossed and watercolored the flower, diecut the edge and assembled it all together.
I have used SSS scalloped edge dies, PTI Hugs diecut (sent by a sweet friend), Blooming Buds Stamp set
Here is a closeup...

I hope you like my card and will give this technique a try :)
Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment.

  3. What a great technique, Deepti! I've never tried that but I think I have some old oil pastels somewhere. I love the muted colours of the background - they tone so nicely with the blues of the flower. Great layout too! So nice to have you as our Guest Designer at CAS Watercolour!
