ATSM #69 - Addicted to CAS

We have a wonderful new challenge for you this week at Addicted to stamps and more... Addicted to CASWe all know what clean and simple is right? It's all about the design, not the technique,  not the tools, not the embellishments. It's all about the design Uncluttered, lots of white or open space and one main focal point. For my DT card I followed the same rules...

To make this card,  I used a wood mounted stamp (from Anita's Inque Boutique) and did some paper piecing. I also created the glow behind the gift boxes by masking and inking. The shadow from the boxes was created using grey pencil color. Sentiment was hand written. Hope you like my card.

There is a lot more lovely inspiration from the DT, Please visit our challenge blog here. The winner will receive a wonderful prize from our sponsor this week Nicecrane Design. Take a peek at their store here

I am excited to see what you will come up with ....

ATCAS #25 - ONE LAYER

It's time for yet another challenge at Addicted to CAS and all our dear CAS lovers get set as the code word this week is ONE LAYER selected by our sweet and talented Kylie. She is also the host for this challenge.

Our winner will get a great prize from our amazing sponsors Digi Darla Designs

For my card, I decided to go one layer for recreating a typical tree with all the fall colors that I see here. I am so much in love with the Fall, this card can be a tribute to nature's gift to us :)
To make this card, I roughly and lightly hand drew the tree trunk with a pencil, Then I used my wood mounted Studio-G leaf branch Stamp to stamp with shades of green, orange and red and yellow (using Memento Dew drop Inks). I also masked and stamped a few leaves at the base to indicate that they have fallen. Then, I did some inking in the corner to show that sun is shining through. Finally I made my tree trunk using Sharpie Markers :) The bird (from Prima Stamps) and the sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - You make me smile set) were stamped for finishing touches. Hope you like my card :)

Our DT has come up with some amazing projects this week. Pop over to our ATCAS challenge blog here and take a peek. I am looking forward to the challenge this fortnight and am very excited to visit your blogs.
I am also linking this up to the following Photo Inspiration challenges (coz all Fall begins from the tree ;))

Few more challenges...

Hello everyone, I am back with two more cards :) My first card is inspired by the sketch at CAS colors & sketches #48 , the colors at Runway Inspired Challenge #46 - L.A.M.B. and by maple leaf in the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger- Entralled in Fall. Also submitting this to Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes challenge :)
To make this card. I cut out the largest circle from Sizzix die and score it vertically at a 3/4 of the circle. On the 3/4 portion, I hand drew the sunburst kind of lines and cut them out. This was then stuck on the card stock. The maple leaf (from Inkadinkadoo mini stamp) is stamped on another white card stock, fuzzy cut and inked (Memento dew drop dye inks). It is then stuck on the card base with foam dots. Finally, I made a few dots with sharpie grey marker and added glossy accents. Sentiment was stamped (from Paper Sweeties - you make me smile set) using Archival black ink.

My second card is inspired by the Muse challenge #40, this week the Muse is Darnell and I had to play along. She is such a sweet heart and making a card inspired by her card is my acknowledgment to all the love she shares with me by leaving all those sweet comments on my blog :) I used the colors from Color Q #211 and will also submit this to Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Halloween or Halloween colors.
To make this card, I did some masking and inking (using Memento Dew drop dye inks) to create this wavy panel. I stamped and fuzzy cut the butterfly and stuck it on the panel with a hand drew butterfly trail. The focal image was made by stamping leaves (from Studio G wood mounted leaf stamp), flowers (from Studio G -iClear mini set) and mini flower (from Martha Stewart - Doilies set). Sentiment (from Paper sweeties set).

Catching up with a few challenges....

Today, I sat down just to catch up with a few challenges this week. I haven't made a card since last thursday... my DT card (which was posted yesterday) was made a few weeks ago, I make DT cards in advance :) My first card is for multiple challenges Keep it Simple #25 - BE INSPIRED (because I love nature and landscapes), CASology Week 67 - COUNTRY, the theme challenge at Less is More Week 142 - TREES and the CAS on Sunday #19 - GET WELL SOON Challenge.

To make this card, I roughly hand drew the scene. Then I masked and inked with a semi circle to make the land. Hand drew and colored the fence. Hand drew the tree trunks and masked n inked the tree tops with masks made with sizzix circle dies. I stamped the sun (from Studio G - iClear set) after masking the trees. Finally, drew and colored the bird. Sentiment is hand written. Country reminds me of such a scene with fence, trees, birds and sun and a bright day is always said to bring health n happiness ;)

For my second card I was inspired by the Photo at Inspired by #93 challenge, Sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!! #50 and CAS Masucline card challenge at The Paper Players #169.

I decided to make the lens of the camera with its shutter open. I cut out a 2.5x2.5" panel, stuck the circle in the center that will form the base of the lens. I then hand drew and colored the shutter of the lens using Sharpie Markers. To make the lens, I cut out a transparency and a circular frame to surround it. It was  stuck with foam dots. Finally, I hand drew and colored the flash. This is a perfect masculine card as men enjoy all these gadgets ;)

ATSM #68 - Addicted to Colors

It's time for another challenge at Addicted to stamps and more... Addicted to Colors
This is a challenge that requires you to use the challenge color and create a card. I am sure you enjoy incorporating different colors into your projects, so here we are with some lovely colors for you...

To make this card, I cut out a small rectangular panel from white card stock, then inked it lightly with the celery shade. then stamped the Mini Flourish (from Inkadinkadoo) in the same shade, then I stuck this panel on a black card stock leaving a border around. I then hand drew the flower petal layers and colored then with Sharpie marker, stuck them at one edge of the panel and curled them, Then I stamped two butterflies (from Martha Stewart stamps), fuzzy cut each and stuck them on this panel. Finally stamped the sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - You make me smile set)

Hope you like my card. There is a lot more lovely inspiration from the DT, Please visit our challenge blog here. The winner will receive a wonderful prize from our sponsor this week Nicecrane Design. Take a peek at their store here

I couldn't resist...

Hi friends, the title of this post depicts that I couldn't resist creating this card... I got this idea in the morning and right then at around 8:30am I started to work on this card. I was thinking about how can stitches be incorporated into a sentiment, then it hit me that we sew relationships together, we mend relations, which led to patching up.... I was inspired by the CAS-ual Friday's CFC117 - In Stitches challenge and by the colors at Color Q #211. Here's my card...
To make this, I decided to make a trendy collage look. On my card base, I lightly swiped the my Memento Dew drop Ink to match the pumpkin pie shade. I then did some random stamping using My mind's eye  the sweetest things and Studio G - iClear grid stamp. I cut out hearts from DCWV Basics Stack of two sizes using Nestabilities Heart dies. Inked the edges and stuck the little heart over the bigger one. Then I hand drew the faux stitches to indicate the patch and the thread extending beyond. Hence, the sentiment ;)
Finally, I hand drew some dots with Sharpie Markers and added glossy accents over them.

Best Witches!!

If you are looking for my ATSM #67 post, please click HERE;  for ATCAS #24, please click HERE and for Catchy Challenges, please click HERE...

Hi friends, I am back with "Best Witches" for you all ;) The reason behind this card is obvious the Blog land is all spooked and I had to be a part of the spookiness.
This card is inspired by LIM Week 141- One Layer Witches and Wizards challenge, the colors of Pinspired challenge #19, the theme at The Friday Mashup #131 - Spooky project and the Photo at Inspired by #92 Challenge. Here's my card...
To make this I cut out a circle using my Sizzix circle dies for masking. The inked up the circle with Memento dew drop dye inks. I don't have a stamp of a witch but I was having a pack of paper stencils, I purchased at a local grocery store (yeah!! I do that) that had a stencil of a witch. I used it to make the witch with black Sharpie Marker. Finally, I stamped a few stars (from Holiday spotlight Joy-nailing set) purchased at Local craft store.

ATSM #67 - Make your Mark

It's time for another favorite challenge at Addicted to stamps and more... MAKE YOUR MARK
This is a challenge that requires you to use Markers, Pencils, Pens, Textas, Chalks, Crayons etc. If it writes or colours - use it! I am sure you love coloring as much as I do :)
To make this card, I partially embossed my card base using my bubbles embossing folder from Darice. I then cut out two set of leaves from Nestabilities foliage set and inked them with Memento dye inks. I the stamped the flower (from Scrappy cat - Garden collection) on another white card stock, fuzzy cut it and colored it with my Sharpie Marker. Finally, attached it all using foam dots and glue dots. Sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - you make me smile set) was stamped on vellum. Also, added some glossy accent as dew drops on leaves :)

Hope you like my card. There is a lot more lovely inspiration from the DT, Please visit our challenge blog here. The winner will receive a wonderful prize from our sponsor this week Nicecrane Design. Take a peek at their store here

Some more great news to share... I am on the DT of Catchy Challenges

If you are looking for my ATCAS #24 DT card, please click HERE...

My design exposure and experience is going good and being on a Design Team gives me a tremendous opportunity to learn and create better and better... I was recently taken into the Design Team of the ATCAS and ATSM which was very exciting and surprising for me. I still at times cannot believe it LOL :)
And now to add on to my disbelief and excitement Deepti Stephens (yeah :) she too is Deepti !!) the owner of CATCHY CHALLENGES in India offered me to be on their Design Team.

I was like.... seriously, is this true :D and I said Yes right away :) so here I am with my first creation for Catchy Challenges. They are currently running with the challenge -

In India we celebrate a lot of festivals at this time of the year, So the catchy team decided to begin celebrating the festive season too. You can create anything for the festive season – cards, tags, boxes, gifts, etc. for more details and inspiration from DT you can visit here.  and now to my card... this is for the festival of Lights called Deepawali :) where we light these earthen lamps everywhere.
For my card, I hand drew"a diya" (an earthen lamp), fuzzy cut and colored it. To create the glow of light from flame I did some masking and inking. At the base below the diya, I made this Rangoli (which is like a design made with dry colors on floor) using a Nestabilities scalloped circle die, I made a semi circle. I then stamped these mini stamps ( from Dipsy Doodling - Ready set grow) around and colored them. Finally, I smeared some golden glitter all over.

Hope you like my card. I would like to thank Deepti to take me on board and also the lovely team for being supportive :)

ATCAS #24 - TRANSPARENT

It's time for yet another challenge at Addicted to CAS and all our dear CAS lovers get set as the code word this week is TRANSPARENT selected by our sweet and talented Christine. She is also the host for this challenge.
Our winner will get a $20 gift certificate from our amazing sponsors Nicecrane Designs.

For my card, I decided the work with the idea of things that are transparent and if I could recreate them on a paper project. I had ideas like glass pane on a window, a glass tumbler, an aquarium and finally the idea that clicked the most was a magnifying glass.
Then the question was how do I show that its a magnifying glass, of course I used my MS word to type this quote I found online.... I worked on the font size and spacing, increased the size of "you" which will be seen under the magnifying glass. To make this I used my sizzix dies to cut out two frame like circles and a transparency that was sandwiched between these. I added a handle too. Rest I cut out the text and gave it a look of a torn piece of paper with a note. Gave it a little vintage look by inking and stamping a watch dial (from Prima stamp set). Final touches were added by the hearts stamped (from Studio G-iClear set)and fuzzy cut . The magnifying glass was stuck with foam dots.

Our DT has come up with some amazing projects this week. Pop over to our ATCAS challenge blog here and take a peek. I am looking forward to the challenge this fortnight and am very excited to visit your blogs.

I want to link this to the following challenges too
CASology Week 65 - CRISP (because paper is crisp ;p)
Inkspirational #41 - ANYTHING GOES  (I am not sure if I can link this up at inkspirational because ATCAS and Inkspirational went live almost at the same time, but I just want to try :D)

Have fun in creating CAS :) and thank you for visiting my blog.

Fascinating Friday's with Barbara Murphy :) and a card

Hi crafters, I am here to tell you about the featured artist at Fascinating Friday's - Paperie Designs Studio, she is none other than the very popular and very creative Barabra Murphy of Kinsale Creations :) Most of you might know here already but for those who haven't been to her blog... this is the time to get some amazing inspiration from her. Please visit here...
Now to my card, as always I have combined a few challenges... Sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #49, the theme STITCH at CAS-ual Friday's CFC 117 and use of Pattern Paper at Lawnscaping Challenge #67. so Here's my card...

I wanted to create a scene at the beach and how it looks from above the sky. to make the water, I used a blue pattern paper and tear it out to create waves, the sand was created by inking and masking. The umbrellas were made bu cutting out circles using sizzix circle dies, dividing them into 8 quadrants, snipping out a triangle at each quadrant to show the cut ends. The mat was made with another pattern paper. I did some faux stitching on each of these. They were then stuck on card base with foam dots. Sentiment (from My mind's eye - the sweetest things) was stamped. The pattern paper used is from DCWV- The Basics stack and Ink is Memento dye inks used for inking and shading.

Oops!! I made another one...

Looks like my mojo is quite active at this moment. I couldn't resist making this card. As always I have combined multiple challenges to make this one. My inspiration was the colors at Color Q #210, the theme at CASology Week 65 - CRISP, the sketch at Freshly Made sketches #107 and the use of rubber or clear stamp at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge
To make this I used a rubber cling stamp that I purchased at my local craft store. The stamp is from Dipsy Doodling - Ready set grow. This is a beautiful stamp that gives the look of a folk art. I am playing this at CASology because it is a crisp design with crisp cuts. I stamped the image as per the sketch using Archival black ink. I stamped the same image on another card stock to give a layered effect by attaching cut out pieces with foam adhesive. The image was colored using challenge colors with Sharpie Markers. Finally sentiment (from paper Sweeties - you make me smile set) was stamped and some score lines were added for some finishing touches.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment :)
