Diwali Blog Hop 2014

This is my second post for the day, please click HERE to check out my card for STAMPlorations Bi-weekly Sketch Challenge #22

Hello and welcome to the Diwali Bloghop 2014. You must be hopping over from Smriti's blog. This hop was master minded by Chaitali of Cuts, crops and creativity and just like last year, we are continuing our trend to make some festive, ethnic Diwali cards for inspiration and celebration of this festival.

Diwali is the festival of lights celebrated by Hindus to honor the home coming of our Lord Ram from a war after defeating Raavana. This festival also emphasizes on the belief that the Goddess Laxmi (The Goddess of money) will arrive in our homes and bring prosperity. Diwali can be compared to Christmas in terms of how important and big this festival is for us :) I am excited to celebrate this day with my family :)

But of course before I head off towards the preparations for the festival, I will share a card I created.
The diya/ earthen lamp on my card was hand drawn and the BG was done with distress inks and water stamping using Inkadinkadoo Dots and flourishes stamp set. The sentiment was stenciled and hand written. I am linking this at The Paper Players #218 - CAS Silver/ Gold and Storie di timbri, carta e #9 - Combo colors (for me its red and yellow)

There is a lot more ethnic and elegant inspiration for you, please hop on to Indira's blog.
Also, here is the list of all the stops in the hop, in case you missed any spot...
