CASology and me...

This is a very special post to me as I got this wonderful opportunity to Guest design at CASology, my favorite challenge blog. I am on Cloud 9 :) But before I lead you to my card, a little about my creative journey with CASology :) I got into blogging in the mid of January 2013 which was started to share my new found hobby of card making and it was almost the same time when I started to play along with CASology. To be precise, my first entry was for Week 28 with cue card Drink and since then I think I have played with almost all the challenges :) By the way, I must accept that there is a remarkable change in my cards since then.... they have got better ;) LOL

So, I thought this post can be the best way to express my thanks to Melissa for coming up with this amazing concept of Cue cards. These cue cards are so intriguing, I always enjoy making a card inspired by the cue card. Now my next set of Thank you's are for the talented, ever motivating team that has always left me great comments admiring me every time. I am a big fan of all the team members :) Thank you Melissa, Ardyth, Rosemary, Jen, Kimberly, Tracey, Judy, Gillian, Meghan, Maureen :) for being so kind. So this card is dedicated to CASology and the entire team :)

When I got the email from Melissa with the Casology Week-61 Cue card Silhouette, I almost jumped in joy. I knew exactly what I wanted to create :) So I did... 

To make this, I hand drew the tree, the deer and little landscape in a frame. The leaves on the tree were stamped (from wood mounted rubber stamp leaves- Studio-G), All was colored in black using Sharpie markers. This was then cut out using an Exacto knife to reveal the negative space which will be used to show the sunrise in the background. For the background, I took another piece of card stock and inked it with Memento dew drop inks ( red and yellow) using a sponge dauber. It was then stuck from behind the card base using foam dots :) Finally, Sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - You make me smile)was stamped.

Colors and theme...

Once the weekend fun with family ends, the week day fun with card begins ;)  I have to get my creative dose at the start of the week :) So here I am with another card inspired by the colors at Color Q #205 and the theme to use waves on your card at Crazy for CAS #26 and by Lawnscaping challenge #65 - Use your favorite supplies. Here's my card...

To create this I made blue wave by masking and sponging (Memento dew drop dye inks), the pink wave was hand drawn and colored with Sharpie maker. The flower and leaves are made by my favorite Foliage dies (from Nestabilities), the petals are colored with sharpie marker and stuck using foam and glue dots. The sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - you make me smile) is stamped and pearls (from Darice) are added for finishing touches. All supplies used are my favorite.

Listen to my heart beat...

Hello everyone, I am back with another card that is inspired by multiple challenges. I recently attempted to use the rubber stamp scraps in this card and it turned out nice, so tried the same technique today. To create this card, I was inspired by the theme at Addicted to CAS Challenge #21 - MUSIC, the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch! #44 (I inverted the sketch) and colors at CAS Colors & Sketches #41 - RAINBOW. Since, Addicted to Stamps & More #61 is having the challenge Anything Goes, I will link this up to it :)

Making this card was easy, but needed some precision in stamping with that small piece of rectangle cut out from scrap of rubber stamp set :) All I did was drew some lines using a scale and pencil to define the space within which I will stamp to create these music beats in rainbow colors.I hand drew the heart beat line graph below the beats. The heart was stamped using Studio G- iClear stamps. To add some shine I added glossy accents on the beats and the heart. Once dried the heart was stuck with foam dot. Sentiment was added and card was embellished with pearls :)

My love for baskets...

I am back with two cards... I love to make my own baskets, have made them earlier, like this one. So thought about making two cards as a tribute to my love for baskets ;) LOL

So my first card, is inspired by theme at Paper Players challenge #161 - FALL, the colors at Inkspirational #36 and the sketch at Seize the Sketch #3. I love combining challenges :) So here's my card.

To make this I hand drew the basket and the fall leaves, inked them with yellow and red colors and stuck them as per the sketch. The sentiment (from Paper sweeties- you make me smile) was stamped on vellum. Final touches with butterflies (from Martha Stewart) were made by stamping and fuzzy cutting them :)

My second card is inspired by the cue card at CASology Week 60 - APPLE, the sketch at Annabelle stamps Blog AC 170 and use of Button at A Blog Named Hero ABNH #31. Here's my card...

To make this, I hand drew the basket and the apples, Colored (Sharpie marker)and inked the apples and basket respectively. Finally fuzzy cut each of these and stuck them. The basket was embellished with button and twine and sentiment was added on vellum :)

Congratulations...

I am back after a mini vacation at Hershey, PA It was so much fun, the roller coasters, Hershey kisses but the best part of my vacation was that I got to meet my best friend/ cousin :) Though I was on a vacation some part of me kept working on card designs and ideas inspired by various challenges and here I am with a new card...

This card was inspired by the CAS-ual Friday's CFC113 - Use Kraft and Text, by the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #43 (I rotated the sketch) and by the theme at Curtain Call - Back to School. To make this card, I used both the stamp and my hand drawing. To make the pencil, I stamped the text (from Prima Marketing mini text stamp) after inking it up with brown, yellow and red inks to form different shades and part of pencil. I then used a scale to draw the pencil and fuzzy cut it. It was then lightly inked with a sponge. I then took a kraft card stock and hand drew the paper , fuzzy cut and inked it. I then wrote the sentiment. This was then stuck on white card stock using foam dots. To add finishing touches, I did some scribbling, just the way we do with a pencil. Added hearts (from Studio -G iClear stamps) and a paper clip from my stash.
