STAMPlorations Birthday Blog Hop - Reminder Three!

STAMPlorations has turned a year old and is celebrating with a blog hop and new release. Today I am up with my fourth and final card :) Don't forget to hop over to win a lot of prizes. You have until Wednesday, July 2, 11:55 p.m. PDT (GMT -700) to comment here and on my fellow designers' posts for a chance to win. I have my forth and last card (actually not last, I can make tons with set lol) to share using the same set VIGNETTE: Retro Mod Shapes set  here's what I created...
I am so inspired by the beautiful card by Donna Mikasa that I had to CASE it. To make this card, I inked the card base, then I stamped the images with water. As distress ink n water reacted, it gave this result. This is one technique that looks awesome and I ought to do more of it :) Finally, I did some gold embossing of the sentiment, added a die cut and a gold embossed vellum butterfly to finish my card.
I am entering this card to the following challenges -

Shery was kind enough to offer one stamp set of my choice from the store to create my project/s. I love all the stamps in their store but I was particularly inclined towards VIGNETTE: Retro Mod Shapes set and one lucky winner will win this set which is being offered by STAMPlorations at my blog. So, don't forget to leave a comment!
This stamp set is so versatile, I see a whole lot of possibilities when I pick this stamp set. And when ever I sat down with it I created a new card :D Here's one...
The shapes in the stamp set can be used to create much of variation in ur design :) To make this one, I stamped two of the stamps to create my candles in Hero Art Soft Granite and PTI Summer sunrise, inked the card base with Distress Mustard seed and the stamped the circle stamps from this set to create the bokeh effect. To finish the card I added the die cut birthday and hand wrote the sentiment "wishes". Hope you like my first creation :)

ATSM #101 - Anything Goes!

Hello crafters, I am glad that you all played along with us in our 100th challenge and now its time for your favorite challenge at Addicted to Stamps and more... ANYTHING GOES !! I am sure you all enjoy this challenge as much as I do, it gives us an opportunity to explore so may unlimited ideas. So, get going and create what your heart desires. This is what I created...
To make this card, I stamped the birds, masked their tails and stamped the frame around each, I then also masked the bird frames and randomly stamped different sizes of squares in colors inspired by Be Inspired challenge and the frames from Monday Blues inspiration picture. The thought was since the birds are not in a single frame they are missing each other. Quite a logic, u see!! LOL, I also colored the non overlapping area of the green and blue squares with my pastel markers. Finally stamped the sentiment and hearts. Since the stamps are never used before I am playing along again at Darnell's NBUS challenge.

There is a lot more lovely inspiration from the DT, Please visit our challenge blog here. The winner will receive a wonderful prize from our sponsor this week Eureka Stamps. Take a peek at their store here

I am playing this for the following challenges -

FUSION is a very interesting, it gives us a photo and a sketch, so possibilities are endless with the freedom given in the challenge. You can just work with the sketch or just photo, in my case I went with the Fusion, I was inspired by votive and the gold, so I created this...

The new challenge...

Hi friends! I made a card for a new and fun challenge "The Cutting Edge" started by fantastic, talented and superb Jackie Rockwell of Rockwell Designs. Jackie is back in action with not just one but two amazing challenges. The other is Tag You're it! for all the tag lovers out there :)
But my card is for The Cutting Edge and as the name suggests is for all those who are crazy about die cuts. If by chance you are not... you will definitely become one with this challenge and its amazing DT. So this first challenge is a contest for a Guest Design opportunity :)
So here's my card...
I was inspired by the card in the bottom right corner. To make this card, I die cut all the elements and inked them, drew a faint line as a guide to place my die cuts. Before placing my elements, I masked the lower edge of the card and created a sky by inking. Then I placed the elements with sun being the first, followed by trees and then birthday diecuts. I hand drew those tiny birdies. The unique thing about this is that I used the twig for marshmallows as the tree trunks :)
I am also linking this up at Paper Crafting challenge #12 - In summer and CASology Week 100 - Celebrate as its their birthday and I wanted to be a part of this celebration :)

Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment :)

Supplies used - Dies: MFT Roughing it, MFT Little Lower case alphabets, CAS-ual Fri Dies Tree(to make those tiny flowers) and sizzix circle die; Inks - Distress Spiced Marmalade, Mustard seed, Mowed Lawn and Tumbled glass, Memento Bamboo leaves; Spectrum Noir markers; Martha Stewart Glue pen

Yay! Guest Designing at Stamplorations bi-weekly challenge #14

If you are looking for my Merry Monday Guest Design post, please click HERE...

Yippee! I am just getting lucky :) I won a sketch challenge #11 at Stamplorations and was invited to Guest Design for the bi-weekly sketch challenge #14. I am so excited to be designing with the amazing and talented team of Stamplorations. Thank you so much for having me over :)
So here's the sketch and my card...
I have a tendency to make my card as CAS as possible so I saw scored lines in the horizontal strips on the sketch. I worked on the focal image, I created a mask for the heart and stamped it with Stamplorations - SUBWAY Art builders stamp - dare, multiple times in different inks. Then I added an inlaid die cut heart and added butterflies with some hand drawn stitched lines. The heart and butterfly were picked to match up the sentiment :) The colors used are from Color Q #245, so I am linking this up there as well. Also, linking it up at Less is More Week 176 - OLC Off the edge

Hope you like my card and will join in the fun at Stamplorations :)
Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment !

New stamps and more !!

Hi friends, how are you all? I finally managed to take some time out to make a card with the new goodies I ordered from TAWS. I have been eyeing on the new release and few other stamps for a long time, finally I managed to buy them and make a card :) These stamps are so good, I have so many ideas flowing into my head with these stamps but due to shortage of time... I could make just one :) More to come soon...
Also, my dear and very popular Darnell from djkardkreations is celebrating a landmark of 500 followers on her blog by a NBUS #1 challenge. I am sure u know what NBUS is... its a cool term coined by Darnell - Never Before Used Schtuff :) She is one talented lady, if u don't follow her, I bet u r missing some real fun in life :) So I decided to join in her celebration with my new NBUS :)

I was inspired by the TAWS Be Inspired #53 photo inspiration to create this card.
To make this card, I did some inlaid die cutting. Stamped the heart with the rainbow colored crossing lines stamp. I stamped, colored and fuzzy cut the birdies and laid them on the card base over the heart. Stamped the sentiment and some diamond shapes to finish my card. Since this card has birdies and is CAS, I am linking this up to two more challenges

Also, thought I would share the things that I have been busy doing :) One is a water color painting of a bird, which I did coz I felt like... seeing water colors all around in the blog land. I hand drew the bird and then water colored it :)
And another is a canvas painting in Acrylics of Lord Ganesha, our Hindu God who brings prosperity and all things good in life. I made this one for my sister-in-law :) who recently got married. Hope she likes it!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment :)

ATSM #99 - CAS

We have a wonderful new challenge for you this week at Addicted to stamps and more... Addicted to CASWe all know what clean and simple is right? It's all about the design, not the technique,  not the tools, not the embellishments. It's all about the design uncluttered, lots of white or open space and one main focal point and here's my card....
To make this card, I did some masking and stamping of sea animals, followed by masking and inking to create the waves. Then I stamped a few circles to give the illusion of bubbles and finished my card by added balloons and birthday sentiment banner
I was inspired by the following challenges -
