For the love of stamps...

Here are two sets of cards for different sets of challenges. Both of my cards are dedicated to my slowly increasing collection of stamps and other craft supplies and I'm loving it ;)

The first card is inspired by Theme of CAS-ual Friday's CFC107- Hunger Games - ARROW and the colors from 10 Minute Craft Dash #20. here's my card.

The total time I took was 7 min and 43 sec. This was quick :) I decided to make an arrow that encircles around. So I hand drew and fuzzy cut it out. The stamping was done on card front and sentiment was hand written. The YOU is written using a stencil. The arrow was stuck using foam dots and Sequins were added. Also, light inking was done to add some character :)
And there you go.... I am all set to enter this for the challenges -

Now, my second card :) the sketch is inspired by CAS Colors & Sketches # 31and the colors by The Play Date Cafe Challenge #188 - Pretty in pastels

To make this, I cut out hearts using my Nestabilities Heart dies and Cuttle bug. I then partially stamped and inked them using sponge daubers, of course using the challenge colors. These pieces were then stuck using glue and foam dots. Finally, I embellished it with heart stickers I purchased from Michales :)

You are sew sweet...

I have made this card to use the stamp set that I recently purchased from Michales - Stampabilities - sewing clear stamp set. I was so dying to use it but was unable to come up with the right idea on my card. But finally, I did it :) Of course, only after combining a few challenges together.
My card was inspired by the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch #34, the colors from Color Q #195 and use a Tag challenge from A Blog Named Hero #26. Here's my card...

The tag is hand made and lightly inked using a sponge, the different stitches are hand drawn, the image of the spindle is stamped, colored, cut out and stuck on the tag. The horizontal strip to match the sketch is made by perforated blade using a paper trimmer. It is then lightly inked using a sponge dauber and masking. The colors chosen are as per the color Q challenge. The inks used are Memento Dew drop dye inks.

Fly free...

This card's concept is inspired by the CASology week 50 - cue card - FREE and the colors by Dynamic duos #58 - Monochromatic Deep oranges and since its a one layer CAS card, I'll play it for CAS on Sunday #11 - ONE LAYER WONDER too :)
I love combining challenges ;)

I wanted to make a card with bird cage and a bird, I had this beautiful stamp from Prima - Printery collections with the cage but I decided not to use it because the cage was too small for me to cut out through the cage. So, as always I hand drew my cage and used my Exacto knife to cut out the white space on the cage to give it a more realistic feel. The birds are stamped and is from same Prima stamps set. The light inking was done using a sponge and memento dew drop ink :)

Earlier, I have made another card using Exacto knife which you can find here and this can be called as a sequel ;) Also, here below is the image of my bird cage - work-in-progress

Birthday wishes...

I have made a card combining the different challenges as a source of my inspiration. The theme inspiration from Less is More Week -125, it's Jen's Birthday and this card is to wish her a great birthday and a happening year ahead. The sketch is inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #33 and colors by Pinspired Challenge #12. Here's my card...

I created a window by drawing parallel lines and then cutting alternate lines using my craft knife. I added flower embellishment (from Artwrap.com) and sequins (from Art minds). The leaves were cut out from foam stickers that I had in my stash. The vein in each leaf was created by pressing my nail in the center parallel to the edge of the leaf ;)

The butterfly was die cut using my punch. The jute twine is from Recollections. All the elements were assembled and put on the window on the card base using glue dots and glue stick. Sentiment was stamped and some inking was done using a sponge and Memento dew drop dye ink to add brightness to the card.

The challenges are -

1. Less is More Week -125 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hope you enjoy my card :)

You are Fintastic :)

I must accept that the CASology's Week 49 cue Card - FISH was kind of difficult for me, in the sense... I was getting ideas but non of them was good enough to my standards ;) I definitely wanted to create water and fish but HOW??? and then came CAS-ual Friday's challenge CFC106: over the edgeCreate a Clean And Simple card with an element that goes off the edge of the card front
and.... BINGO!!! I was struck by an idea just like cupid's arrow strikes you right into your heart ;) LOL
Yeah yeah!!! I know I am being dramatic ;) okay let's cut the drama and show you what I came up with.

I love hand drawing the elements of my card. So to make this I hand drew a wave with dolphin jumping out and leaving a splash of water. I cut this out and used the negative of this image for masking and coloring the waves and water with memento dew drop blue inks. I colored the dolphin with black sharpie maker. I then stuck this cut out on card base using foam dots. The sentiment was printed from MS-word :)

cards for different challenges...

Since, yesterday I was busy in one of my other projects, I never got a chance to create a card. So today, I made a few cards :) In my first card, I was inspired by the Case inspiration challenge at Inkspirational #25 and the colors from Color Q challenge #194 was my second inspiration. Here's my card...

To make this I simple stamped and pencil colored the gift boxes (stamp I bought from Michael's) and fuzzy cut these. I embossed the card base with Darice embossing folder, then added the gift box strip using foam adhesives. Finally added the sentiment.

Now my second card, this one is inspired by CAS Colors & Sketches #30.

I stamped the flowers ( Memory & Lace - Michael's and MY Mind's eye - the sweetest things) on a card stock & fuzzy cut them. I stamped the text image (Prima stamps), the leaves ( garden collection stamp). Once the base images were stamped I added the flowers, sentiment (Prima cling stamps) and the washi tape.

Here's the challenge colors

Hope you enjoy my cards :)

Sunshine and happiness

This was a real quick card, I mean only the making ;) thinking took me quite a while LOL i.e. almost 6 days , Inkspirational challenge is closing in 2 hrs and finally the idea struck me :)

I was inspired by the waves and I wanted to recreate it in some way. So, I hand drew a wave on a card stock and cut it out. I then used the negative space to create my waves with shades of blue :) I also used the negative space of circle die to create my sun. the birds were stamped and the palm trees are rub on stickers.

The challenge image at Inkspirational #24 is

Hope you like my card :)

The best moments...

This is a quick card for today, inspired by The Paper Players challenge - CAS Bring on the bling and by the Lawnscaping challenge - Add dimension

This card is an engagement card where dimension and bling is created by the engagement rings. I used a double sided tape and stuck it on card stock, then added glitter on the other sticky side and cut out thin strips which was then rolled and stuck to create my rings. The rings were stuck with Glue dots. For the background, I did some stamping and added die cuts of heart using foam dots. Then sentiment and embellishments were added.

JOY...

This is another card for today, I just can't stop myself from creating a card after card... LOL. This card is inspired by the Case Study challenge #145 - MUSE card from talented Lisa Sprangler, Love her cards and the colors from the Color Q challenge #193.

To make this card, I first made the background using 2 different stamps, bigger medallion like stamp is from My mind's Eye - Indie Chic and the little flower like stamp is from Studio G  i-clear stamps. Rest of the elements were die cut. The red die cut was stamped ( which is not clearly visible as was stamped with red ink and green die cut was embossed. Finally rose embellishments and JOY metal sentiment was added.

Talk of the town...

This card is inspired by the sketch from CAS Colors & Sketches #29 and the colors from The Alley Way Stamps #30. The moment I saw the sketch I wanted to create spotlights  resembling the horizontal and vertical stripes of the sketch. But where will the spotlight go and then the freebies from The Alley way Stamps struck me. So, here's my card.

The spotlight was made with masking and inking using a sponge dauber. The focal image was printed colored and cut using a sizzix circle die. Sentiment and dash lines are hand written and drawn. I used Memento Dye inks and pencil colors.

I turned Vintage...

This project of mine is not the usual me, I mean the CAS style. I explored a new me through this project. I am learning about some art movements and one of which was the Mail Art Movement. The ideologies behind this movement was communicating with masses on your perceptions about something. The communication can be done in any forms like collage, a drawing, a photo, just anything... Inspired by the mail art movement, I decide to create and envelope and an insert which was used in the 19th century.

To further inspire me... Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World was a perfect choice as my theme in creating this project was an expression of memory of my childhood. I have some fond memories of my childhood when I traveled to different places in India with my parents. Back then it looked like a treasure hunt to me as we explored new historical sites.

I remembered the nature, the birds and the packing we did. More importantly following the directions to reach each destination. Since, I am talking about travel which involves "Transport", I will also play this for Simon Says Stamp Challenge. Here I am transporting myself to my childhood memories.

Envelope
Insert
Envelop with the insert inside
Envelope with the flap open
To create this I did some scoring to create my envelope out of 8.5 X 11" white card stock. I made an insert out of another white card stock cut into 4.25 X 5.5" . Rest I did some stamping creating a collage, keeping the theme of my memories as the focal point. Where the glitter represents the treasure I found in seeking a new place. The intricate motifs remind me of my mom's embroidery and the compass reminds me of my dad who gave us the directions :) I so miss those days.

To cut the long story short... I explored a new art form in me, which is my creative mission for each day.

Make a wish

My "Make a wish" card's theme is inspired by the Casology Week 48 - Yellow, the sketch is CAS(E) this Sketch #31 challenge and the colors by CAS on Sunday #10 - Black white plus one. So, when I read yellow I started to think about things that emit light... Sun, moon, bulb and candles. Bingo!!! I decided to make candles and their light :) here's my card.

To make the candles I used my Darice embossing folder, I cut our the candles. I used the negative space created on card stock after using sizzix smallest circle die to create the light around the flame of the candle. I did inking for this. The black and yellow stripes were made using washi tape I bought from Michaels'  I forgot the name of the brand :( and other thin black stripes were made using my sharpie marker and a scale.
