Great News!!! I am now a part of the wonderful Design Team at ATCAS

You won't believe how excited I am to post this :) that smile on my face is just not ready to disappear LOL
So, when I got this email from "the owner" Kylie of Addicted to CAS, I jumped out from my couch, read the email 5-6 times in disbelief and then picked my phone to tell my husband about the exciting news. He said... good job Deepti, I am happy for you :) hahaha.... actually I am happy for myself too. Now who would say no to be associated with such an awesome Challenge blog and an equally awesome Design team. So here, I am with my very first post as the ATCAS Design Team :) hope you will like my creations...

This week the hostess at Addicted to CAS is the wonderful and talented Sylvia and she has picked just the right cue card for this time of the year - AUTUMN/FALL. I am sure you are very excited for this one, so get set with all your supplies and create a CAS card inspired by the Autumn /Fall.
Our CAS Perfectionist will win a wonderful prize from our lovely sponsor "The Paper Nest Dolls"

Now to my DT card... I thought what could be a better representation of Fall than the color changing Maple leaves :)
To make this I hand drew the twig with brown Sharpie Marker. Used my mini Maple leaf from Picture Punch to punch out few leaves. I then inked partially inked (using Memento Dew Drop Dye Inks) the leaves with different shades of fall. These were then stuck on the card base. Sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - You make me smile set) was stamped. That's it... easy right!!

Our DT has come up with some amazing projects this week. Pop over to our ATCAS challenge blog here and take a peek. I am looking forward to the challenge this fortnight as a new DT and am very excited to visit your blogs.

Have fun in creating CAS :) and thank you for visiting my blog.

Love for blue...

Hello my dear bloggies... I kind of like this name :) I am back again with another set of cards. This time I got hooked to blue ;) My first card is inspired by the Color Q #208 challenge - BLACK WHITE PLUS ONE, and by the Sketch at Inkspirational #39. Since, there is a flower in my card, I will play it for Keep it Simple #23 - FLOWER.Also, for a change, I have used just the craft supplies and not my hand drawing in the first card :)

To make this card, I did the chevron (Cas-ual Friday's Zig zag Background) stamping in Archival Black ink. cut out the petals from Nestabilites Foliage dies in black and white. Stamped the butterfly (from Martha Stewart) in Tim Holtz aqua Ink and stuck it over flower. Finally used a paint brush to add the small polka dots of ink :) sentiment (Paper Sweeties - you make me smile set) was stamped to finish the card.

For my second card, I went with my usual style of masking and inking :) This card is inspired by the Colors at Color Throwdown #261 and by the Sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #47. Here's my card...
To make this I decided to create a whimsical sky and greenscape representing the waves on the sketch. I also did masking using Nestabilities foliage die leaves on green side and hand drawn rays mask on the blue side. The sentiment was hand written using a fine point Sharpie Marker. Finally, some foam stickers were added. There you go, my card is all set :) I will also play this for Simon Say's stamp Wednesday challenge - ANYTHING GOES

In love with Maple leaf...

Hello my dear friends, it took me a while to be back on a card making spree again but I am back :) LOL It's not that I did not make cards yesterday, I did but haven't posted them yet :) Besides, I have guests coming over and with that begins my cleaning spree ;p Don't get me wrong I keep things very organized and clean but I get crazy when I have guests coming over :)
I am sure you are not interested in all this... so let's get on to my cards, I have made two cards which are displaying my love for Maple leaf. I am so excited for the fall :) My first card is inspired by CAS-ual Friday's #115 - FALL COLORS & A LEAF and by the CASology Week 63 - AUTUMN.
To make this I stamped the Maple Leaf (from Inkadinkadoo -Fun Maple Leaf Mini), fuzzy cut and inked it using my Memento dew drop inks. The background... which indicates the wind was made with soft pastels (from Fable Castle) using the Fall colors. The colors on the leaf were further enhanced using the same pastel colors :) The sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - you make me smile set) was stamped using Archival Black Ink

Now my second card, this has a completely different look from the previous card but still has that fall feel :) This was inspired by Sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #46, Photo inspiration at Inspired by #89 and by the Colors at Dynamic Duos #71 - Kraft and Black. So here's my card...
To make this card, I cut out a piece of pattern paper from DCWV - The Natural Matstack and distressed the edges. In doing the distressed edges, I was inspired by this card created by talented and amazing Rosemary from Hey There.... Rosigrl!  :) Next I cut out the branch from a Cork sheet and stuck it over the pattern paper. The maple leaf (from Inakadinkadoo - Fun maple Leaf mini) was stamped on kraft paper, fuzzy cut and lightly inked on the edges. This was then stuck using foam dots. Sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - You make me smile set) was stamped using Black Archival ink :) This panel was then stuck on my white card base :)

Card making spree ;)

Looks like I am going mad... With two cards in every post, yeah me too think so :D but I am making cards for a few friends and hence whatever challenge hits me with an idea, I go ahead with it
So, my first card is inspired by the theme at The Paper Players #163 - CAS challenge for Kids and by the colors at CAS Colors and Sketches #43
To make this I hand drew the magician's hat and colored and fuzzy cut this. The balloons were made by cutting out circles using my Sizzix dies and colored, the strings were hand drawn. All the elements were added using foam dots and final touches were made by adding the confetti I made using my paper puncher and coloring them with challenge colors. Sentiment is stamped from Paper Sweeties you make me smile set :)

CAS Colors and Sketches #43

Now my second card is a complete opposite of the first, inspired by colors at Addicted to Stamps and more #63 and sketch at Freshly Made sketches #104 and the theme at Keep it Simple #23 - FLOWERS
To make this the blue panel was masked and stamped using mini grid background stamps from Studio G -iClear set. It was then slightly shaded with ink. The flower was stamped and inked and the leaf was cut out from DCWV pattern paper using my foliage dies from Nestabilities. These were then inked a little around the edges. Finally all the elements were stuck to match the sketch and sentiment was stamped :)

Creating landscapes on cards...

Hello friends, I am back with my usual style of masking, inking and creating landscape. The first is a set of cards, I created for The challenge A Blog Named Hero #32 - GAME, SET MATCH :) Here's my set of cards...

This set shows the rising of the sun and the movement of the bird. This was created by masking and inking. The silhouette was a handmade mask. The sun was also made by masking. Besides, I added few stamps... Leaves (from Studio G-iClear mini stamps), Bird (from Prima Stamp set) and sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - you make me smile set). The same process was repeated in all the cards, however the combination and strength of s specific color was changed. Hope you like it :)

The challenge image at ABNH #32 is

My second card is inspired by a wall paper on my iphone, yesterday we got an updated iOS 7 and with that came these awesome wall papers, I have tried to case one of these... sadly I am unable to attach the picture.
To make this card, I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #46 and by the colors at Festive Friday FFC17.
To make this I did two tone inking on my card panel. I cut out a few leaves from my Nestabilities Foliage Die set and turned them into the trees here. Finally did some shading to create shadow of the trees in water using my Pastel pencils and smeared some silver and blue glitter with my paint brush to create the snowy look. That's it :), it was fun making these ...

Struck by an arrow ;)

First I want to thank ATCAS Challenge Blog for picking me up along with all the lovely ladies in their Wall of Fame :) I am so honored and thankful to them :)

So, when I saw the cue card Arrow at CASology Week -62, I wanted to go with a more graphic and modern approach, I guess that's what the word ARROW shouts at me... but at the same time it also shouts heart which is the more traditional approach to arrows :) So, what I did finally was to create two cards, yeah I did do that. To make these cards, I have used stamps, dies and also few of my handmade paper stencils. I know you must be thinking how weird is that but the fact is I like freedom in my creations and adding my elements does exactly that :D
So for my first card, I inked the color splat stencil, then masked it to do the rest. I then used the circle stencil to ink it with blue and green colors. Rest I did some stamping using the Arrows and Punctuation - Scrappy Cat stamps and Inkadinkadoo - Dots and Flourishes stamps. Finally, I hand drew and colored my arrow and pushed the tip into the color splat by making a small cut. The rest of the arrow was stuck using foam dots. Here's a peek into my stencils :)
This was hand drawn and cut with Exacto knife
This was made using Sizzix Circle dies
Now my second card was inspired by the traditional concept of an arrow and I was also inspired by the Colors at 10 Min Crafts Dash #26. I thought with my splat stencil ready, I can make another card within 10 mins and I did ;) It took me 8 min and 43 sec.
To make it, I used my Nestabilities heart dies to cut out the heart from red card stock, the little hearts were stamped using Studio G-iClear stamp set on red card stock and then fuzzy cut. The dots were punched out using my paper punch. The arrow was hand drawn and cut on gray card stock. Rest, I inked the color splat stencil, addes the heart over it using foam dots. Inserted the arrow into the heart by making a slight slit. Stuck the rest of the hearts and dots. Stamped the sentiment from Studio G Stamp set :)

I will play both my cards for CASology Week 62 - ARROW and my second card at 10 min Craft Dash #26

Yellow seems to be the color for today...

Hello friends!! I am back after Friday... Weekend was all busy busy with loads of shopping :D but I missed my crafting ;) So I am back with two cards. My first card is inspired by multiple challenges - Theme at ATCAS #22 - GET WELL, by theme at Less is More Week 137 - Get well soon OLC, by the Photo inspiration - Sunflower Surprise  at Curtain Call and by colors at Dyanamic Duos #70. Yeah four challenges all in one ;)
To make this, I made my own paper stencils for the green line at the base of sun flower and the central circle of the flower. I masked and inked these. To make the petals of the sunflower, I used the scrap of rubber stamp set, I purchased. I then inked up the rubber petal and stamped it so make my flower. Finally, the sentiment was added.
The challenges are -

My second card, is solely focused on one challenge CAS(E) This Sketch #45 . So here's my card...
To match the sketch, for this card too I created my own paper stencils to show the color blast. It was inked (using Memento Dew Drop inks) and butterflies (from Martha Stewart set) was stamped in Archival Black ink. The sentiment (from Paper Sweeties -you make me smile set) was stamped.
The sketch is-

Fascinating Friday's at Paperie Designs' Studio is back with yet another fantastic artist... So, I thought it was time to know her a little more :) Please check out the link here Creative Crafts to get an insight into her life and her creative journey :)

Now to my card, inspired by the colors at Color Q #206, sketch at CAS Colors and Sketches #42, embossing at Simon Says Stamp challenge - Emboss it and use of markers at Addicted to stamps and more - Make ur Mark... I came up with this card
To make this I drew horizontal lines with a pencil and a scale and colored them with my Sharpie markers (yeah.. I like Sharpie a lot). The butterflies (from Martha Stewart)were stamped and there opposite side was used to color them in one shade (coz, I don't have the butterfly die set ). The upper half of the card was embossed (with Brick embossing folder from Darice). Finally, butterflies were stuck one over the other with glue dots and foam dots. Sentiment (from Paper Sweeties - you make me smile) was stamped and pearls were added to finish the card :)

The challenges are -
1. Color Q #206
2. CAS Colors and Sketches #42

Thank you...

If you are looking for my CASology Week-61 Guest Design post, please click HERE...

Today, I sat down with  a decision to create a card for CAS-ual Friday's CFC114 Challenge- BACK TO SCHOOL. I was not sure what will I make, then the idea of schools using a quill and ink for writing in the ancient times hit me and I remember how my talented friend Tasneem, created her own feather. So, I took the inspiration from her brilliant creation, HERE and made my card... I was also inspired by the colors at Runway Inspired challenge #43 - Lela Rose, so I used there colors in my card.
To make this, I hand drew my quill, cut it out colored it with inks (Memento Dew drop dye inks) and then created fringes. I did a bit different from Tasneem here, I cut this out first and colored later, just to achieve different colors on same feather perfectly :) Then I embossed some vertical score lines (using Martha Stewart score board) on my card, suck the quill will glue dots and hand wrote the sentiment using my calligraphy marker ( which was picked for the obvious reasons). That was easy :)

Since, I have used marker and embossing, I will play it for Addicted to stamps #62 - Make your mark! and Simon Say's stamp Wednesday Challenge - Emboss it

The challenges are -
1. CAS-ual Friday's CFC114 Challenge- BACK TO SCHOOL
2. Runway Inspired challenge #43 - Lela Rose
3. Addicted to stamps #62 - MAKE YOUR MARK !

4. Simon Say's stamp Wednesday Challenge - EMBOSS IT
