Fusion #16

Hello friends!! time for another Fusion :) I hope you enjoyed playing along with our previous challenge. Our new challenge is perfect for the summer time, the pastel colors are so soothing in summers :) Now let's see what will you make this time ;) So here's the Fusion inspiration n sketch for you...
FUSION is a very interesting, it gives us a photo and a sketch, so possibilities are endless with the freedom given in the challenge. You can just work with the sketch or just photo, in my case I went with the Fusion , I was inspired by the vertical stripes, the colors and the  flower vase. So here's my card...
For my card, I adhered a blue panel on card base. The I took another pnale of the same size, scored it and cut it out twice with a Pretty Pink Posh stitched border die, I adhered these panels over blue with foam adhesives. I stamped the jar and shaded it lightly with pencil colors. Made a tiny slit on the lid and inserted the die cut and colored flora stems and to finish the card, I added the stamped sentiment banner and pearls.

I am linking this up to the following challenges -
1. Shopping Our Stash #162 - Triple threat  (I used pearls, scoring and die cut elements)

I have been missing in the blog land lately and while going through my blog list, I realized I missed the birthdays of Chrissie and LeAnne but I still can share are card for them. Playing with new stamps !!

Hi ! I am here with a quick post with the card I made using another one of my favorite stamp set from STAMPlorations. I have so many ideas to work with this stamp set... Oh Christmas tree and Holidat Artsy set for the sentiment for now I am sharing one...
To make this card, I was inspired by the browns and white at the Festive Friday #36 photo inspiration and I decided to create this...
This was a quick card that involved generation stamping (using Hero Arts - Latte ink) going off the edge. I added the die cut alphabet for merry (using MFT Die-namics little lower case) and stamped the sentiment. To add more interest to my design I hung the 2 die cut stars. Also, linking this up at Word Art Wednesday #142 - Anything Goes!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment :) Will be up real soon with a lot of posts ! LOL

A BIG HAPPY NEWS!!!

Wohooo!! it took a while to sink in... This happy news happened towards the end of June and to keep it a secret was a tough job. Not any more!! So, the news is that I am on the design team of STAMPlorations. STAMPlorations is a fairly new stamp company started by Shery Russ in June 2013. She is popular in the blog land for her artistic Mixed media cards. The stamps from STAMPlorations are unique and artsy and help you in creating some of the most gorgeous cards.

My first experience with these stamps began when I won a stamp set at CASology. I truly loved the quality of their clear stamps both in terms of stickiness and ink coverage. Then surprisingly I was invited by Shery to join there STAMPlorations Birthday blog hop and it was during that time , Shery asked me to join the team. I was like are you serious!! I was in total disbelief LOL. And the rest is history, I am officially on their team now :) Hope I will exceed Shery's expectations and will be able to give you some good inspiration to look forward to.
So now comes the challenge and my card, it's a Bi-weekly Sketch challenge #16. This challenge ends on August 1st and the winners would be announced on August 5th.
I love the VIGNETTE - Tree Silhouette stamp set and wanted to showcase them. The tree are so beautiful and very realistic. To make the card, I masked the card creating a vertical panel, then I Inked it with distress inks. I removed the mask and Stamped the trees in two shades of blue. Finally, I heat embossed the tree and the sentiment from VIGNETTE - Trendy Feathers. To finish the card I added some sequins.

Be sure to ckeck out STAMPlorations blog for some amazing inspiration by our lovely team and don't forget to play along.

Hope you like my very first inspiration as a STAMPlorations DT. Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment.

Mixed media can be CAS too!

Hi friends! Finally I am back on track as far as card making is concerned, I have been missing in the blog land for a few days. Well, the reason was that I had to go through the most dreaded thing in the world "A root canal" , yeah! I hate going to the dentist... after delaying this for a few months, I put together all my strength to take the hit. Obviously, I had issues in chewing and cold and what not...
Alas! to my fear, the session turned out worst than expected. My tooth was not getting numb even after 5 injections... what a nightmare! I hope no one has to go through this :)
Anyways, I am here to talk about a mixed media card. Earlier my understanding of mixed media was more like too much of textures and layers and techniques and what not but with being on Mixed media team, I have learnt a mixed media card can also be as CAS as you wanna keep. So besides Stamps and inks card should have dimension, technique and texture. At least two of these 3 elements. It is so damn easy :)

So I made this card to remind you for the Mixed Media Card Challenge #1 - Touch for Nature is still on and u can share ur cards HERE.
I was inspired by a AAA Card challenge #11 - ENJOY and A Blog Named Hero #48 - Sheet Cake to create this. Since my card has sparkly water colors, I will link it up at Stamplorations July Challenge - Stamps & Glitter
To make this card, I took the water color card base. Created a grid to mark the places where I will stamp the birds and the squares. I first stamped the birds and then the boxes. I masked the bigger bird before stamping the box. To showcase my sentiment, I water colored three of the boxes in black and the last one with rainbow colors. I hand wrote the sentiment and hand drew the stitch lines. To add dimension I added these tiny diecut hearts with foam adhesive.
By the look of it you might think, it's not a mixed media but it is! just remember the definition and guess what, we often make cards without even realizing that it's a mixed media. So whatever is ur style u can play along with us :)

Okay, I am not done yet coz there is another card to share... of course I was deprived of card making and when I got a chance I made two :) This one was inspired by CAS-ual Friday's #133 - Summer Lovin', the Sketch at Sketch Saturday #318 and Virginia's View #5 - Die cut. So here's my card...
I masked of the edges of the panel and created a wavy mask to make the vertical rainbow by inking. Then I cut out the hearts and an extra white smaller heart. Added it all on card base with Foam dots. I also went arount the edges of the hearts with white acrylic paint marker and did some splatters with white. Additionally, I added the sentiment and stapled the vellum leaf die cut.

FUSION is a very interesting, it gives us a photo and a sketch, so possibilities are endless with the freedom given in the challenge. You can just work with the sketch or just photo, in my case I went with the Fusion , I was inspired by the text and floral details on the vase. So here's my card...

Love making cards :)

Hi friends! I am back with two more cards :) Usually can't help it... always end up in making a card when an idea hits me. Hope you will enjoy.
With me being on the Mixed Media Card challenge team, I tend to be inclined towards mixed media now. If you read the definition, you will know that we have been making a lot of mixed media cards even without realizing :) Here's a new card with the same theme Touch of Nature. Don't forget to play along with us at MMCC #1 In this one I used stamps, inks, embossing powder and water color technique :) So here's my card...
To make this card, I masked off the lower edge of the card and heat embossed the trees in black. Then I took the Distress ink pads and brushed them directly on my water color card stock. this followed some water spray and wash to create a sunrise :) the embossing resisted the water colors and resulted in a subtle BG.
I am entering this at the following challenges -

And now another one, this is inspired by the Retrosketches #122, Color Q #248, Cure for Monday Blues #23 and House of Cards July challenge - BowTo make this, I did some stamping of sentiment hexagons on card base. Added the die cut sentiment, heart and butterflies to finish the card. Finally, tied a bow with a twine :)

Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment :)

Supplies used Card 1 - Inks: Versamark ink, Memento Tuxedo black, Distress Barn door, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard seed; Stamps: STAMPlorations Vignette - Tree Silhouettes, Bird from Prima cling stamp set - Printery; Whisper Black embossing powder; Darice heat too

ATSM #103 - Holiday

We are back with another amazing challenge this week at Addicted to stamps and more... HOLIDAY which opens up a wide range of ideas, from projects for any festive holiday or for some holiday destinations or whatever comes to your mind when you think about holiday... There are numerous possibilities. Now to my DT card, I went with the Christmas theme for my Holiday card...
To make this card, I was inspired by a few challenges, colors at  Merry Monday Challenge #116 - Green and White , the theme to use something that is one year old at Jingle Belles - Shopping our Stash and since it has joined forces with Shopping Our Stash challenge, I will link this card there too :) I used a pattern paper book I have had since a long time.
I also used the sketch prompt at 52 Christmas Card challenge - July Blog Hop This card is easy to create, to make the Christmas tree, I used the pattern paper of two kinds and cut out strips of  varying dimensions, stuck them on a triangular piece of card stock alternately and adhered it on card base. I did some stamping of hollies by masking around the frame to finish my card :)

There is a lot more lovely inspiration from the DT, Please visit our challenge blog here. The winner will receive a wonderful prize from our sponsor this week QKR Stampede. Take a peek at their store here

I am excited to see what you will come up with ....

I have another card to share, this time it showcases my experiment with Gelatos which I got from a sweet friend :) I was inspired by The Cutting Edge Challenge #2, Colors and washed look of print at the Runway Inspired challenge #63 - Just Cavallli Resort and Virginia's View #5 - Die cut.
To make this card, I cut our the balloons and their strings. Then I adhered a black panel and heat embossed the sentiment. I also added some ink splashes. On the card base, I adhered a water color panel which was created by using gelatos and water. the die cut panel was added over this with glue dots to finish my card.
