Cards with different styles...

I have made two completely different cards as far as the style goes, I am satisfied with both of my cards. The first card is inspired by the CASology Challenge week 55 - CAMP and I am also playing it for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - ANYTHING GOES
The card was simple to make, I decide to pick up the elements which we often see when we go for camping, a camping hat and a wooden sign board as my focal image. With the hat, I decide my sentiment which was printed on kraft card stock. The card base was embossed (with wooden frame from Darice)and focal image was hand drawn, colored (I mostly do add my hand drawn things) and stuck with foam dots :)
CASology Cue Card -

Now, the second card is inspired by the photo inspiration challenge at the House of Cards - Month One. I decided to go with classic and elegant style  to make this card.
I partially inked my card base with a sponge dauber. Then I did some stamping along the inked sides. I added some gold on the stamped images using my gold gel pen. Sentiment was stamped and embellishments were added and I am all set with my card. I will play this card for Inkspirational Challenge #31 - ANYTHING GOES and for Addicted to stamps and more challenge #56 - ANYTHING GOES as well :)

Love for inking continues...

I am back after hibernating for the weekend :) The weekends are busy for me with family, friends, movies and Monday kick starts with a lot of creativity. I made two cards today for different challenges but the use of inking technique is common in both the cards
My first card was inspired by the colors at Dynamic Duos #63 which remind me of the beautiful greenscape, the Sketch at Annabelle Stamps Blog AC 168 and use of Kraft and Twine at CAS on Sunday #13.
To make this card, I cut out a landscape like shape on a scratch paper to do my masking and inking (using Memento Dew drop dye inks) on a white panel. The trees were made using Nestabilities oval dies and inked with sponge daubers. The tree trunk was fuzzy cut on a kraft paper. The card base was embossed using a wood Embossing folder from Darice. The bird and the sentiment were stamped (from Prima Stamp set) and finally button, twine (from American Crafts) was added.

3. CAS on Sunday #13 -KRAFT AND TWINE

Now my second card, this was inspired by the photo inspiration at Addicted to Stamps and more Challenge #55 and Sketch at CAS Colors & Sketches # 35
To make this card I cut out a square panel using square swatch die from nestabilities on my card base. I stamped the leaf strip from (Studio-G iClear stamps) and also stamped the sentiment as per the sketch. I then inked horizontal lines by masking on a panel that will go behind the swatch. Then added embossed candles which were made using an embossing folder (from Darice) and embellished with foam stickers.

Love for masking and inking...

Okay, so by now you must have observed that I am too much into inking and masking ;) I like it because it is a terrific way to add colors, I can create my own masks from scratch paper, create whatever I want and most of all it is easy and quick and gives ur card a great look. Obviously this card follows the same trick. Here's my card ...

To make this one I was inspired by the Sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #38 and the colors at Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World and the theme at Keep it Simple #19- Birthday. To make it, I cut out the shape as is seen in the inking I did, I created two cut out one bigger for the central yellow and another smaller for the rest of the colors. I did inking using Memento Dew drop dye inks. I then stamped Happy Birthday on a vellum strip and attached it on my card base. I also hand drew and cut out a mask for color splatter and inked it on my card base using the same inks. Finally, I used my flower Punch (from Picture punch) and punched out 3 flowers added sequins (from Art minds) to each and attached on the card base using glue dots.

Love for White...

I am so obsessed with white... I always make a card on a white card base and I also love to make an all white card :) So this card is dedicated to my love for white. Another reason to create this card was to see effect of gold on white ;) I was inspired by Inkspirational #30 - Sketch challenge for my layout and by Gold and Glitter from CASology and ATCAS challenges. This is my second take for CASology and ATCAS.... couldn't resist making another one ;)

To make this card, I decided to make a punched panel of vellum. I did this by punching in a row on vellum. I hand drew and cut the white vases. The tree branches are hand drawn and cut on a double sided adhesive sheets from Darice. It is then stuck to card base and glittered using Recollections Gold. Finally, the card is embellished with Gold sequins from Art Minds.

Sending love...

I decided to create a card that incorporates gold, glitter and lots of love ;) I had something in mind, basically what professional photographers do.... they keep the background white with a touch of color to create a stunning picture background. Of course I was inspired by a few challenges this week :) So, here's my card.

PS - This photo and the photo I have linked up to the challenges are different. I was not satisfied with the previous photo due to poor lighting, so I re took the pictures :)

To make this card, I created this gold chains by cutting out 2 thin strips of double sided adhesive sheet (from Darice) using my paper trimmer. I then placed these carefully on my card base giving it a gold chain like look. Then added Recollections gold glitter. I then decided to make a gift bag that looks like a bag made with cloth, and for this I hand drew and fuzzy cut the bag, I added the string to tie the bag in the same way as the background chains. Finally, I added a heart sticker on the bag that was purchased at Michael's during Valentine Day sales. The sentiment was stamped (from Studio G -iClear stamps) using Memento dew drop dye ink.

Thinking of you...

This card is inspired by the theme at Less is More Week 129 - Hand made Flower, which says "You may use any medium you like... felt, paper, card, acetate, fimo, embossing powder, whatever you can conjure up!" and the colors are inspired by The Play Date Cafe challenge #191 - A few of our Favorite things :) so here's my card.

To make the flowers, I used my ever favorite Vellum. I fuzzy cut the petals of 3 different sizes, colored them with Memento Dew drop dye inks and stuck them together as per the size using a transparent double sided tape. On the card base, I did some masking and inking using sponge daubers. Hand drew the dash lines and the floral stem. Stuck the petals to complete the flower. Added the sentiment (from My Mind's Eye - The sweetest things) and finally added punched out dots from my cream colored foam stickers :)

Happy 7th Birthday...

This card is for my loving nephew, Aadi who will be turning 7 this year. I have seen him right from the time when he was born... can't believe time flies so fast. Now he is an elder brother to a one year old and definitely a great brother :) I haven't met him since last two years and now I am excited to see him on his birthday :)
This card is to celebrate his 7th and many more birthdays to come :)

I was intrigued by the overlapping shades of colors by the Jocelyn Olson's Card at Case Study challenge #150 and I had to create my version of overlapping colors but nothing was clicking and then CAS-ual Friday's CFC 110 came up with just the right challenge to include numbers. So, I came up with this idea ...

To make this card, I took two pieces of scrap card stock and cut out a V-shapes one broader and another narrower. The broader was for the focal number "7" and narrower for rest of the numbers. I then did masking and inking with sponge dauber using Memento dew drop dye inks. I then stamped numbers 1-6 (from Scrappy Cat stamps) with corresponding inks and cut them out. For number 7, I used my stencil. The sentiment was printed using MS-word and cut out as a banner. The focus light was hand drawn, colored and fuzzy cut to add at the bottom. I have tried to depict the effect of prism over white light ;)

Go nautical...

This card is dedicated to my love for seas and oceans. I love enjoying the waves at the beach though the situation is... we don't have an ocean here in Cleveland :( My husband, just to suffice my desire to be by the sea took me to this beach of Lake Erie and to my surprise... it was amazing. Though the waves were not as strong as that of a sea but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love him for being so thoughtful and doing these little things to make me happy :) So, this card is for him :)

Anyways, let's move on to my card. I will be playing this for the following four challenges.

Curtain call is up with it's first challenge and I had to participate in it :) So to make this card, I hand drew, colored and cut the anchors (yeah! I don't have any anchor stamp plus I love to add my hand drawn image), then I used my sizzix circle dies to cut out a life saver and colored it. The sentiment and leaf are from Paper smooches Freebies which were printed and cut and colored with pencil color respectively. On the card base I stamped chevron stripes using CAS-ual Friday's Zig-zag stamp set with Memento Dew drop Dye inks. I then added eyelets on the card base to hang my anchors. Finally, stuck all the elements using foam dots and glue stick.

Hope you like my card and thank you for stopping by :)

Love for Polka dots and more continues...

Hi I am back with another card and this card is dedicated to my love for multiple things... polka dots, cool design and vellum. So the challenge at Casology Week 53 is COOL and I interpreted the cue card in a different way i.e. making a card with COOL DESIGN and the end result is not that bad. I was inspired by Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge AC 167 in using the core design elements of my card, the circles which resemble POLKA DOTS and the colors used are an inspiration from Color Q #198.

To make this card, I first cut out a frame on my card base using my craft knife. I then used Sizzix circle dies to cut of circles of different sizes from vellum. These were then colored with Memento dew drop inks using a sponge. Finally, I stuck each of these vellum circles randomly in the negative space of frame cut out on card base. To add some fun, I stamped these mini flowers (from My Minds eye - sweetest things stamps) on a white card stock, fuzzy cut them and stuck them over vellum circles. Finally, sentiment was added (Prima Stamps).
I took the inspiration for this card from this photo, I came across while browsing :)

Two different cards...

My first card is inspired by the sketch at  CAS colors & sketches #33. To make this card, I hand drew the twine and fuzzy cut the banners from different pattern papers. I stamped the gift boxes using my ANITA's Inque Boutique stamp and colored it with pencil colors. The banners were added with foam adhesives and sentiment was added.
Since, its a birthday card I will also link it up at Moxie Fab World - Birthday Creations Week - The birthday Card Challenge

The Concept of challenges at House of cards is simply awesome, it lets you explore the possibility of different card making styles and I am constantly participating in the se challenges. So they have these colors which are up for entire month and we have to use the same colors every week but with a different card style. This week it's Classic and Elegant and I had to try my hand on it ;) Besides, I was also inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch! #36 to make this card.

To make it I die cut the focal piece using scalloped circle die from Nestabilities. It was then inked. The bird, heart and alphabet were stamped and fuzzy cut. Glitter glue was added to each of these. I also hand drew and fuzzy cut a tree branch using a black card stock. All elements were then stuck on the embossed card base.
