For the Dad!!

Hi friends, with Father's Day right around the corner, I had to make these cards to send them out to India one for my father and one for my father-in-law :) It usually takes 10-15 day's to reach, I am keeping my fingers crossed that they receive it on time :)
So before working on my card, I went over the blog land to see if I could get some inspiration from the challenges and yes of course I did!! The challenges are really helpful when I comes to designing my card :) So, here's my first card...

Inspired by the following challenges -

To make this card, I took a diagonal striped pattern paper and cut it out and scored, folded and glued  it to create a gift box, coz when I read ribbon a gift box struck my head. Added ribbon just the way we wrap a gift box. Then further embellished it with die cut alphabets and an anchor. Stamped the sentiment across the edge to finish my card :)

For my second card I was inspired by a few challenges again :)

I created my chalkboard on a black card stock by heat embossing the banners in white. then brushed some white ink to give a chalkboard look, stamped around with a border stamp to make the frame. Then I stamped and colored the banners on the card base to add interest. To finish, I added the die cut alphabets, stamped the sentiment and embellished it with the star pin.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment :)

Yay!! Guest Designing at CASology Week - 97

Hi friends!! I won the Week 95 - SPLASH at CASology, lucky me :) and hence I am getting a chance to Guest Design here for a new challenge with a fun cue card - BEE. Its always fun to win and design for one of my favorite challenge :)

Once Melissa shared the cue card with me, I knew I did not want to make a bee yet showcase the cue card in some way. So I made this...
I focused on the colors, their proportion and patterns on the bee to create the focal square by masking and inking, the black stripes were hand drawn. Finally I added a vellum heart to both express the sentiment love and also the wings of a bee. The hand wrote mine and hand drew the bee trail. Easy peasy :)

The CASology challenge is very intriguing and fun, with loads of inspiration by the team. Hope you will join in the fun at CASology this week :)
Thank you so much Melissa for inviting me over and thank you everyone for stopping by and leaving me a comment!!

FUSION is a very interesting, it gives us a photo and a sketch, so possibilities are endless with the freedom given in the challenge. Cards that make me happy...

Hi friends!! I am here again to share a couple of cards. I as usual was inspired by a few challenges... My first card was inspired by the colors at Cure for the Monday Blues challenge #17, the design was inspired by the MUSE #67 - Therese Calvird, she knows I am a big fan of her creativity, and this goes to her awesomeness!! For the theme I was inspired by the Catered Crop - Sweet home recipe swap and since my card inclused a die cut , I will share it at Simon Says stamp Wednesday Challenge - Die crazy.
To make this, I first die cut the alphabets placing them in a row. Then I inked the upper half of the card, inlaid the alphabets, did some stamping to built up around the die cut and adhered some embellishments to finish my card.
  Catered Crop Recipe Swap Button

My second card, was inspired by the sketch at the Challenge #6, started by Lesley Croghan at her blog, the photo at Inspired by #117 and by Cut it up challenge #44 - Mother's day.
This was an easy to make card, I had this stitched rectangle from Lil Inker's sent by a sweet friend. I simply stamped it and the card base with flowers. Stamped fuzzy cut and colored the owls and adhered them on the card.

Hope you will like my cards :) thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment :)
