ATSM #82 - Make your mark

We are back with another favorite challenge at Addicted to stamps and more... MAKE YOUR MARK. This is a challenge that requires you to use Markers, Pencils, Pens, Chalks, Crayons etc. If it writes or colours - use it! I am sure you love coloring as much as I do :)
We also have a fabulous Guest designer Dawn from Lily Pink Scraps joining us back with her wonderful creation :) For my card, I used my Crayola Color Pencils :) I have this cute set HUGS! from Penny Black and I wanted to use it :)
I recently learnt this technique called Reflection technique using an acetate sheet from Theresa Momber's you tube video, HERE and I applied the same technique to stamp. I hand drew the landscape and randomly stamped flowers from the same set. I masked of the stamp to stamp a few more heart bubbles. Then I colored this using my pencil colors.

I am entering this for the following challenges -
1. Less is More #158 - One Layer anything Goes!
2. One Layer Simplicity Challenge #2 - Can you repeat that?
3. Little Tangles #30 - Celebrate Love (I was inspired by the colors in the inspiration photo)

There is a lot more lovely inspiration from the DT, Please visit our challenge blog here. The winner will receive a wonderful prize from our sponsor this week Stamp Art Design

I am excited to see what you will come up with ....

Fascinating CAS-ual Friday's...

Yep you got that right, I am up with this post to try my luck at CAS-ual Friday's - The Blue Challenge - Guest Spot and yes this post is going to be a long one so grab some coffee, relax and read on....

First of all, wanted to let you know that at Fascinating Friday's (Paperie Designs' Studio) we have featured Vicki Dutcher of All I do is Stamp. I am big fan of hers and I am sure you will love her too :) So check out the feature by clicking HERE...

Now, to my cards... this is kind of a tribute to CAS-ual Friday's Zigs & Zags stamp set. So the challenge is to create new project in Blue using a product of CAS-ual Friday's. I have this Zigs & Zags set. Basically, this set comprises of 5 styles in chevron pattern.
And for creating my card, I used each pattern to create a new card. The fun part was, I did think these stamps as something more than Background builders and created the following...
I think, I got Virginia's bulb - DING in creating these :) LOL. All my cards are in Blue as the main color, inks used are - Hero arts - Chalk Ink - Cerulean, Hero arts shadow ink - Stone wash and Memento dye ink - Danube blue.

Card 1 - Christmas trees (using 2nd stamp)

I stamped this chevron pattern in 3 different inks fuzzy cut and each of these and further cut this pattern to create my trees. The landscape was hand drawn and fuzzy cut. Before layering them on card base I did some sponging. All the elements were stuck using foam dots. Star were stamped from a stamp set purchased from a local craft store( holiday Spotlight - Joynailing set). Tree trunk is cork and sentiment is hand written.

Card 2 - Lanterns (using 3rd stamp)

I saw these lanterns in this particular set and then came up with this card. I stamped this stamp twice and fuzzy cut it. You can make minimum of 3 lanterns from one stamped image. On the card base I hand drew the wire that will hang the lights. Stuck these with foam dots and finally stamped some dots using the back rubber of a pencil to create a bokeh effect (I used Hero arts Butter bar ink for the dots). Sentiment is from Stamping up.

Card 3 - Umbrellas (using 1st stamp)

I was thinking about stamping these chevron on some die cuts and then it clicked that if I stamp them on circles I can create umbrella :) so here I go... I took the next pattern stamp and stamped it on circles cut out from white card stock using sizzix dies. Then fuzzy cut and inked them lightly at the base. I hand drew the sticks of umbrella and colored them in brown, Stamped these mini hearts (from American crafts The blue skies clear set) in Memento dew drop Rich Cocoa ink). Sentiment is from paper sweeties.

I will to enter this card to the following challenge -

Card 4 - Sewing (using 4th stamp)

This set also had a chevron that looks like stitches so, I got this idea... To make this I stamped the clock from Prima stamp set, chevron and the spool of thread (from Stampabilities Sewing set). Added some splatter on pool using pool ink from Adriondack. I had these die cut hearts sent by a friend which I colored in red, punched out butterflies from vellum usind Picture punch and hand drew the thread and wrote the sentiment.

I will enter this card to the following challenges -

Card 5 - Repeat Chevrons (using 5th stamp)

This is the 5th and the last stamp from this set. I created a one layer card with this using this stamp repeatedly. I created a focal rectangle and masked the edges around using post it notes. now in the black space I used another post it not to create these triangular areas masking of the rest. I also did some inking around the edges. Stamping was done in shades of blue. I then added some hearts die cut and gem stones (sent by a sweet friend) to finish the look. Sentiment is from Paper Sweeties.

I will enter this card to the following challenges -

So, that's it :) I know it was too long but I did learn something from this one. We can use same stamp set in many different ways and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did in making these :)
I wish to enter each card for CAS-ual Friday's challenge :)

a-MUSE-ing LOVE...

Its snowing pretty much everyday and I feel cozy to be at home and do what I love :) So, I am back again to share with you what I created... also want to thank everyone who visit my blog time and again and leave their lovely comments, I'm thankful to those who consider my creativity worthy enough to be followed :) you all rock!!

I created two cards, my first card is focused on Valentine :) I was inspired by the colors at Color Q #227, by the sketch at Stamplorations bi-weekly challenge #5 and Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Have a Heart.
To make this I created a wave mask using a scrap card stock. I then inked the waves in the shades of the challenge (using Hero arts - Raspberry jam, Memento - Rose bud and Memento - Angel pink). I hand drew and fuzzy cut the boat, inked it up and adhered it on the card base with foam dots. Lastly, I stamped tiny stars (from Tid Bits Christmas stamp set purchased from a local craft store) and wrote the sentiment. The heart on the boat is a die cut sent by a dear friend :)

My second card was created because I am a big fan of Vicki Dutcher and she is the MUSE for this week at Muse challenge #53 and since I always combine challenges I thought the colors at Curtain call Photo Inspiration - Cuppa Cocoa were perfect for my design idea :). and the topping of Chevron at Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes was another design element in my card. So here's my card...
To make this card, I stamped the Chevron (from CAS-ual Friday's Zig Zags). I die cut the leaves  from DCWV the Natural Matstock (using Nestabilities foliage dies). I cut out a circle using sizzix dies from a cork sheet. I the stamped and fuzzy cut the flowers with Hero arts chalk ink Cerulean (from PTI - Ruby reprise set), heart (from Recollections jar set). Stamped the sentiment (from paper sweeties) on the vellum. Added some brown dots with mt sharpie marker and adhered all the elements together on the card base.

So, you have so much explore, get going and create what your heart desires. We also have a fabulous Guest designer Dawn from Lily Pink Scraps joining us with her wonderful creation :)Here's what I did...
I decided to so some sponging using my Distress inks (Yep !! I got them recently and had to use them). I inked the card base with blue creating the sky. I hand drew kites on a separate paper and inked them too. I made the string of the kite too by hand and stuck the kites one going over the edge, indicating that we should think beyond and dream big, keep high aspirations :) Finally, I stamped the sentiments in a rows (from Paper sweeties) to coordinate with my theme. Hope you like my card.
There is a lot more lovely inspiration from the DT, Please visit our challenge blog here. The winner will receive a wonderful prize from our sponsor this week Stamp Art Design

I am excited to see what you will come up with ....

I couldn't resist creating another card, with so may challenges around :) This was an easy card, I stamped the floral images multiple times (from Dipsy doodling - flower frame cling set), then fuzzy cut and colored them with Sharpie Markers. Added touch of gold with gel pen and adhered all the elements on card base with foam dots and glue. Sentiment is (from Paper Sweeties set). So here's a look into my card...

ATCAS #31 - LOVE

We are back with a new challenge at Addicted to CAS . It's that time of the year when we feel love is all around. Yep you got that right, the very apt code word for this week is LOVE selected by our very talented Jaydee. She is also the host for this challenge. We also have brilliant Guest Designer Anni Lerche joining usAnni loves paper piecing and resist techniques. We know you'll enjoy seeing her designs!  You can see her projects by clicking here, Annikarten
Our winner will win 5 free digis from our amazing sponsors Stamp Art Design

I am glad that so many challenge blogs are having challenges with the love theme, it is helping me to build up my Valentine card collection :) So here's my card...
To make this card, I created a mask from card stock using Nestabilities heart dies. I then placed it on my card base and positioned it with some washi tape. Then I used a scale n pencil to draw horizontal lies where I will stamp the sentiments. I then used stamps (from Paper Sweeties - you make me smile set) inked it up with Memento ink (Grape jelly) and stamped them across the left side of the mask, some times offsetting the mask. Then I lightly inked the same side of the heart. I then removed the mask. Stamped butterflies (from Martha Stewart set) on vellum and fuzzy cut them. I also did some second generation stamping of tiny hearts (from Recollections Jar set). Then I adhered the vellum butterflies with glossy accents, added pearls to finish my card.

I would like to enter this card for the Time Out Challenges DT call. This is a new challenge blog that I am loving and I am sure you would love it too :) I must say the twist they have added to each challenge is their Rota is simply amazing, it is sure to intrigue ur creativity :)

I am also entering this for CASology Week 80 - PURPLE and CASE Study #176 - Donna Mikasa. I am big fan of her creations and I had to participate in this one :)
